The newest AAFES shopping center opened in spring 2006. The complex is home to the Main BX, MCSS—military clothing, beauty shop, barbershop, optical shop and laundry/dry cleaners. In addition, the facility houses a Food Court to include Taco John's, Anthony's Pizza, Main Street Expresso (featuring Starbucks coffee) and Charley's Steakery. This shopping center offers Dyess consumers the convenience of one-stop shopping!

The Dyess Base Exchange offers a varied selection of clothing, household, electronic and personal items. Layaway, catalog sales, Military Star and special-order services are also available. Commissary. The commissary offers patrons a complete selection of fresh meat and poultry, a full service delicatessen, dairy, produce, and frozen food sections. The commissary stocks more than 9,000 grocery items and offers fast checkout with 10 lanes. Patrons can special-order cuts of meat, fruit and/or vegetable and meat and/or cheese trays at the delicatessen 24 hours in advance. The Dyess store offers 21,500 square feet of shopping space at 250 Commissary Road. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 696-4802.

Barbershop. The barbershop is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 5 p.m. Call 695-2089. There's also a barbershop at the Heritage Club.

Beauty shop. The beauty shop offers perms, cuts, sets and manicures Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 691-8881.

Flower shop. The flower shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store offers FTD service, Call 692-5770. Optical shop. The optical shop boasts more than 350 types of frames and orders can be filled within one to 10 days, depending on the prescription. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 793-1750.

Pizza. Anthony's Pizza sells pizza and sandwiches Monday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 692-8491. There is no delivery service.

Theater. The base theater opens Friday and Saturday. Showtime is 7 p.m. The cost is $3.00 for adults and $1.50 for children.

Bank of America. The Bank of America Dyess Banking Center offers a full spectrum of banking services, including checking and savings accounts, personal computer banking, auto and signature loans, IRAs, investments, mortgages, and other services. There is a drive-up window for your convenience and 24-hour service through an on-site automated teller machine. The center also offers Visa and MasterCard cash advances, safe deposit boxes and purchase and cashing of U.S. Savings Bonds.
