49th Logistics Readiness Squadron
The 49th Logistics Readiness Squadron provides comprehensive logistics support to include Distribution Management, Fuels Management, Materiel Management and Contingency Operations functions sustaining the 49th Fighter Wing and 26 associate units. Members of the 49 LRS manage a $427 million supply account, a $22 million fuels account, a 1,000-vehicle fleet, 8,700 mobility bags and 2,500 weapons. They arrange for the movement of freight, passengers and personal property and provide loading support for all passengers and cargo for military, commercial and foreign aircraft landing at Holloman AFB.

49th Communications Squadron
The 49th Communications Squadron delivers information superiority through superior combat-ready communications and airfield systems and services to support the F-22A, MQ-1, MQ-9, JCS taskings, and German Air Force pilot training for worldwide war-fighting missions. The squadron consists of three flights, each with distinct functions that when combined provide Command, Control, Communications, Computer and Intelligence (C4I) and Communications-Electronics (C-E) services to the 49th Fighter Wing and Team Holloman.

The Operations Flight consists of the Network Control Center, Knowledge Operations, Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) Maintenance, Transmission Systems and Solar Telescope Maintenance. The NCC is the communications focal point for the base-wide Secure and Non-Secure Enterprise network infrastructure support and services valued at over $45 million. Knowledge Operations processes Freedom of Information Act requests, provides expertise on documentation filing and Web-related services. Government-delivery of official mail is handled and disseminated by the Base Information Transfer Center. Publications and Forms Management is the base focal point for all 49th Fighter Wing publications and forms requirements. ATCALS Maintenance is responsible for maintaining Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems to include meteorological and navigational aid, radar and ground radio systems valued over $130 million. In addition, Transmission Systems work center is responsible for management and maintenance of land mobile radios and cryptographic equipment.

The Solar Telescope work center also has two unique maintenance functions: 1) central repair activity for the worldwide Solar Optical Observing Network and 2) local solar telescope maintenance supporting NASA Space Shuttle missions. The Plans and Resources Flight is made up of four work centers that provide mission services to the Operations Flight as well as the base. These roles include managing activities related to base-level C4 systems planning: plans support, including mobility/ deployment planning, strategic planning and requirements analysis; implementation, including architectures, integration, direction and standards; resources, including budgeting and billing; and human resources/ functional management, including agreements and contract management. The flight is responsible for base-level communication security programs: Communications Security, Computer Security, Emission Security, and Information Assurance.

This flight is also responsible for Unit Deployment Management and combat readiness. In order to achieve its goals, this flight delivers seamless, integrated communications and information systems solutions to the 49th Fighter Wing and Team Holloman from design to implementation, while allocating unit and wing resources to chart the course for the longterm communications infrastructure road map for Holloman. Additionally, the flight assists the commander in managing the 49th Fighter Wing's knowledge operator managers, assignment rotation, and client systems administrators.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Flight provides the unit a third-party evaluation process to ensure mission accomplishment occurs within the confines of public law, DoD/AF policy and guidance or technical orders. QA also provides unit leadership with an analysis, reporting, deficiency resolution capability and serves as unit self-inspection program monitor.

49th Contracting Squadron
49 CONS provides contracting support for the F-22A Raptor, Predator, Reaper, 26 associate units and German Air Force (GAF) Flying Training Center. 49 CONS provides more than 45,000 contract support actions totaling over $65 million each year to acquire required items and services. The squadron manages all contracting activities, ranging from issuing solicitations, executing competitions, awarding contracts and administering on-going efforts for commodities, services, construction, aircraft maintenance, repairs, bomb ranges and competitive sourcing and privatization. The squadron is continuously engaged in supporting and/or preparing for contracting in contingency and wartime environments. Additionally, the 49 CONS manages the wing small business program and the Government Purchase Card program. The squadron works closely with federal, state and local economic development agencies, small business advocates and Chambers of Commerce to explain, teach and advocate government procurement.

49th SecurityForces Squadron
The 49th Security Forces Squadron provides law enforcement, security, base defense and force protection operations for the 49th Fighter Wing. The squadron is divided into five S-branches: S1 Command Section, S2 Intelligence Section, S3 Operations and Training Section, S4 Logistics Section and S5 Plans and Programs Section.

The S1 Command Section provides leadership, guidance and supervision to assigned personnel.The S2 Intelligence Section handles force protection, antiterrorism matters and criminal investigations. The S3 Operations and Training Section instructs security forces and wing personnel on a variety of areas, to include the wing's READY Augmentee and Expeditionary Combat Skills Training Programs. S3 personnel manage the combat arms training and maintenance range complex. The combat arms training section provides small arms training for personnel throughout the wing. Additionally, the section provides security for transient and assigned installation aircraft, flightline operations and oversees the installation's confinement facility. The Military Working Dog section provides federal, state, and local agencies with narcotic and explosive dog support. Further, the S3 section is also responsible for the security of a satellite communications facility and National Aeronautical Space Agency Space Shuttle security. The S4 Logistics Section deploys and equips personnel in support of contingency operations and air base defense wartime missions throughout the world in support of Department of Defense objectives.

The S5 Plans and Programs Branch provide four major services to Holloman. The Welcome Center efficiently processes civilians, contactors and installation visitors alike. The Reports and Analysis section provides information on incident reports to affected units and personnel and manages the barment and revocation programs for the installation. The Police Services section manages and supervises law enforcement activities and programs in support of the wing mission. The Installation Security Staff provides physical security, resource protection and electronic security support to ensure protection level assets are provided the highest degree of protection for installation resources.

The 49th Security Forces Squadron protects the F-22A Raptor, as well as Air Force Space Command and other associate/tenant unit resources. The squadron is considered a medium-sized unit with over 255 military, civilian and contract personnel assigned. The unit secures a 17,000 military and civilian installation populace and property valued in excess of 7.3 billion dollars and is directly responsible for securing a 59,000 acre installation which contains ACC's most diverse airfield. Ultimately, the 49 SFS is committed to and focused on defending the force 24-hours a day, 365-days-a-year.

49th Civil Engineer Squadron
Civil engineers provide and maintain all Holloman facilities and utility systems. This includes 500 industrial buildings, three runways, 179 miles of roads and over 59,000 acres of land. The squadron is composed of eight flights: operations, fire protection, engineering, readiness, housing, resources, environmental and explosive ordnance disposal.

The Operations Flight performs maintenance and repairs on the base, while the Fire Protection Flight provides fire protection and crash rescue services. Engineering designs and monitors contracts for major repairs and new facilities. The Readiness Flight ensures civil engineer forces are prepared for short-notice deployment and contingency operations. In addition, the Readiness Flight conducts Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare and Conventional Defense training for Holloman Air Force personnel.
The Housing Flight manages about 1,500 family housing units and 1,000 dormitory spaces and also provides a referral service for housing in local communities. The Resources Flight manages and accounts for all personnel and funds and provides computer support for the squadron.

The Environmental Flight ensures base compliance with all environmental laws. They also rectify past environmental damage and review construction projects and mission activities to make sure all Air Force actions protect our health and the environment. Environmental protocols include air emissions, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, water quality, environmental noise, natural cultural resources, solid waste management, pesticides, petroleum, oil and lubricants and pollution prevention.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight is responsible for protecting personnel and property against explosive threats and disposing of hazardous explosive ordnance. The EOD Flight supports all Holloman aircraft, its four bombing and gunnery ranges (Centennial, Red Rio, Oscura and MacGregor) and the High Speed Test Track.

49th Force Support Squadron
The 49th Force Support Squadron is a cohesive team of professionals that meets the installation's daily manpower and human resource requirements while providing morale, welfare, and recreation activities for over 18,000 active duty, dependents and retirees. The squadron operates five flights: Airman and Family Services, Force Development, Manpower and Personnel, Sustainment Services and Community Services.

Airman and Family Services Flight
The Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC) provides active duty members, retirees, DoD civilians and their families a wide range of services: Personal and Family Readiness; Relocation Assistance, Information and Referral Assistance; Air Force Aid; Employment Assistance; Personal and Financial Readiness Services; Military Child Education Assistance; Transition Assistance; Air Force Wounded Warrior Assistance; Volunteer Resources; Personal and Family Life Education Services and Casualty Assistance. It's a support base for families when the sponsor is away.

The center is staffed by dedicated professionals and volunteers. The center also offers workshops, classes and seminars in the area of communication, transition assistance, time management, job seeking skills and Seven Habits of Highly Effective Military Families. The School Age Program provides yearround before and after school time programs that include sports, social, cultural, recreational and outdoor activities for youth ages 5 to 12. The School Age staff supervises activities. Parents and other members of the base community are encouraged to serve as volunteers. The Youth and Teen Center membership entitles youth to participate in scheduled programs including dances, contest, roller-skating trips, fieldtrips, teen and pre-teen councils and tournaments.

The Child Development Centers, located in Buildings 650, 782 and 790, offer an extensive early childhood development program for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years. The Family Child Care Program provides full-time, part-time and hourly childcare, as well as providing services to meet parents' special child care needs (weekend, evening, and 24-hour care). FCC staff licenses, trains and monitors the childcare providers who are approved by the 49th Mission Support Group Commander to offer child care services in their homes.

Licensed FCC providers offer a "home away from home" for children 2 weeks to 12 years of age, with no more than six children in care at any time, no more than two under 2 years old. FCC providers are licensed as "Provisional," "Standard," "Developmental," or "Accredited" depending on their level of experience, training and qualifications. The FCC program supports the Extended Duty Child Care Program and Child Care for Volunteers Program. The FCC program also supports the Extended Child Care Program, which includes Returning Home Care, Child Care for Volunteers and Child Care for PCS Programs, and sponsors the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Force Development Flight
The Education Services Center offers a variety of educational services to Team Holloman members. The center has a broad academic offering for adults interested in furthering their education. General Educational Development review and adult classes in English, math, typing, English as a Second Language and citizenship are available. These classes are free of charge through the Adult Basic Education program at New Mexico State University-Alamogordo.

College courses are available on base in a variety of academic disciplines. These courses and programs may lead to associates, bachelors or masters degrees. The following institutions are represented: New Mexico State University (Alamogordo and Las Cruces), Park University, Central Texas College, Troy State University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

All active duty members are eligible for Air Force tuition assistance. Other financial aid is available through the Veterans Administration, Pell grants and the Air Force Aid Society. The center provides a full range of services and operates a National Testing Center operated by Coastline Community College for the administration of college credit exams (CLEP and DANTES). Ahrens Memorial Library, located in the Learning Center, Building 224, offers over 40,000 books, periodicals and audio books to support the training, reference, education and recreational needs of the Holloman community. Over 160,000 electronic books are available through NetLibrary. The library circulates music CDs by many top recording artists. The library also has a collection of over 6,000 DVDs and video-cassettes to meet everyone's educational and recreational needs. Story hour for preschool age children is offered weekly, September through May.

Computer labs offer 22 computers with Internet access for all research requirements. The library also features EbscoHost databases, periodical abstracts and general periodicals on a Web-based server to help with research projects. For more information call (575) 572-3939.

The Professional Development Center offers four levels of enlisted professional enhancement. The First Term Airman's Course (FTAC) is a mandatory course designed to expeditiously transition first duty station airmen into the operational Air Force mission. All first duty station airmen will be assigned a class date during Holloman In-Processing.

The Airman Professional Enhancement
Course is for airmen in the ranks of A1C-SrA and is designed to bridge the gap between FTAC and Airman Leadership School. The NCO Professional Enhancement Course is designed for Airmen transitioning from the ranks of SSgt-TSgt who have not attended PME within 36 months and the SNCO Professional Enhancement Course must be attended by all Airmen recently selected for Master Sergeant.

The PDC also offers John Maxwell's Developing Leader Within and 360 degree Leader DVD curriculum seminar. The Career Assistance Advisor is located in the PDC to assist enlisted personnel for retraining, special duty or career advice. The PDC is located in Building 451.

The school is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges as an affiliate of the Community College of the Air Force. Military Personnel Section handles all personnel issues pertaining to active-duty, reserve and retired service members and their dependents. Included in the military personnel areas of responsibility are assignments, awards, casualty assistance, decorations, deployment processing, leave program, military and family member ID cards, promotions, reenlistments, retirements and separations.

Civilian Personnel provides advice and assistance to commanders and supervisors on federal personnel rules, regulations and procedures concerning Department of the Air Force and Department of Defense employees. Advice and assistance centers around the following areas: recruitment, training, labor relations, compensation and conduct/ discipline.

The Manpower/Organization Office assists functional managers to improve productivity through on-site observations, manpower and organizational services, and consultant service studies which adds to the effective and efficient use of Air Force manpower resources. The office is also responsible for the Innovative Development through Employee Awareness (IDEA) Program and the wing's productivity programs such as Fast Payback Capitol Investment Program (FASCAP) and Productivity Investment Fund (PIF). The staff also educates, trains and advises base level leaders on a variety of manpower resource fundamentals and issues.

Sustainment Services Flight
Shifting Sands Dining Facility is conveniently located directly to the east of the dormitories and north of the Base Education Center. It serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and a midnight meal, as well as carryout service for all meals. The Shifting Sands also offers a bakery and flight kitchen for our Aircrews. Officers' Club
The Officers' Club is open for an all ranks lunch Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The club provides a pleasant atmosphere for any special occasion. The 49er lounge—open Friday, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.—is the place to gather for fun, entertainment and a game of crud. The club also offers meeting rooms and on and off-site catering for weddings, birthdays and special functions of all kinds and features a barbershop. The Enlisted Club features a Sports Café, special function ballroom and barbershop. It is a full service sports-themed casual dining and "entertainment" facility. Skills Development Center
Hobbyists can find state-of-the-art equipment and tools to work on ceramics, pottery, watercolors, painting, stained glass, wood burning, woodcarving, stoneware pottery and much more. Beginning and advanced woodworkers can use hand and power tools for almost any project at the wood hobby shop. The Holloman Aero Club is an FAA-recognized, Part-141-certified training school. The club offers several classes throughout the year. Outdoor Recreation Equipment Checkout
Outdoor Recreation's equipment checkout offers a variety of equipment for rent. Sporting goods include softball equipment, horseshoe games, footballs, basketballs, snow boots and skis, boots and poles and bicycles. Recreational and camping rentals feature camping trailers, tents, canoes, sleeping bags, camping stoves, lanterns, heaters, ice chests and water jugs. Holloman's Auto Skills Development Center, located adjacent to the Skills Development Center, is one of the finest such facilities in the Air Force. Fam Camp
Holloman features a Fam Camp with full hook-up for 24 camper vehicles, available on a space available basis. Members arriving PCS at Holloman can stay in Fam Camp for up to 30 days. Just ask the guard at the main gate for directions and set up and check in at the Fam Camp with the Fam Camp host. Flying 'H' Equestrian Facility
The Flying 'H' Equestrian Facility, on the north side of Holloman, is open to all active duty and retired personnel, their families and civilian employees. Apache Sports Range
The Apache Sports Range is open to all active duty and retired military personnel, their families and civilian employees. Swimming Pool Holloman has one outdoor swimming pool. It has a slide, two diving boards, water park and wading pool for children. The pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and is available to active duty and retired personnel, their families and civilian employees. Desert Lanes Bowling Center
Holloman has a modern, 24-lane Brunswick bowling center equipped with computerized scoring machines and cosmic bowling. All lanes are ABC, WIBD and AJBD-sanctioned. The center features league play throughout the week and offers plenty of opportunities for families and individuals to play both during normal open bowling and cosmic bowl times.

Apache Mesa Golf Course
This nine-hole golf course and clubhouse offers an oasis from the desert year-round. Facilities include a driving range, putting green, locker storage, club rental, snack bar and pro shop to meet all customer golfing needs. Tournaments are scheduled throughout the year. Private tournaments are a great way to have fun and fund raisers.

Whispering Sands Community Center
Whispering Sands Community Center has rooms to host almost any type of special function and is the hub for recreational opportunities for all ages.
