Family Housing
The Hunt development plan has 1,051 new
homes proposed for Langley AFB. These new
homes reflect the special life style needs of the military,
while creating homes with features that
would rival the private sector. The architectural
character has been carefully designed to blend into the existing neighborhoods by using historic influences
from the surrounding community. The
warmth and architectural charm of the Colonial
Revival exteriors can been found in the use of siding,
decorative shutters and covered front porches,
while our Georgian inspired elevations use brick
veneer, enhanced front entries and dormer windows
in their high pitched roofs.
Whole house renovations will also be provided
for 109 historic homes here at Langley AFB. The
renovation program will comply with the NHPA
requirements and the Virginia SHPO. The renovation
plans will modernize the homes' interiors and
rejuvenate the exteriors in accordance with their
historic architecture and style.
