341st Operations Group
The 341st Operations Group is made up of more than 537 operators, administrators, helicopter
aircrews, chefs and facility managers. Together, they ensure the day-to-day combat readiness of 15 missile alert facilities and 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles and stand ready to employ the weapons at the direction of the president. The group consists of three missile squadrons, an operations support squadron, a helicopter squadron and a standardization and evaluation division.
The 341st Operations Group Standardization and Evaluation (OGV) section supports the wing
mission by standardizing and evaluating operational procedures and facilities of the missile combat crews, helicopter operations, facility managers and chefs. This is accomplished through rigorous check-flights, simulator/field evaluations and meticulous verification of any change to procedure. This section provides critical feedback to the Operations Group on the effectiveness of combat ready forces, training and the ability
to perform the unit mission. In addition, OGV is the operations technical advisor to wing senior leadership.
The 10th, 12th and 490th Missile Squadrons are "war fighting" units comprised of space and missile operators, facility managers and services personnel serving as site chefs. Each squadron has five missile combat crews constantly on alert duty who receive the top-notch support of the Air Force's finest facility managers and chefs. Working together, these men and women carry out their mission as one cohesive team, serving as the deterrent umbrella for expeditionary operations and our Nation's homeland.
As the squadron with the most diverse missions in the operations group, the 341st Operations Support Squadron's current operations, weapons and tactics, and weather flights are keys to accomplishing the group and wing mission. The OSS trains missile crews and support personnel for on-alert duties, provides critical targeting
and coding actions for 150 ICBMs and 15 launch control centers, and keeps base agencies and missile alert facilities aware of up-to-date weather patterns as an integral
part of Team Malmstrom.
