Patrick Air Force Base | Arrival
Your sponsor can help make your arrival and in-processing procedure a smooth one. Your sponsor is a personal representative of your new commander and his or her duty is to ensure your transition to the base is efficient and effective. Talk to your sponsor often and do not hesitate to ask questions you or your family may have to help you get settled easily. If you need help obtaining a sponsor, please contact the Relocations Assistance Program in the Family Support Center at (321) 494-5675.

If an emergency should arise while en route to Patrick AFB, contact the base operator at (321) 494-1110 or DSN 854-1110 and ask to be connected to your unit orderly room. If for some reason you are unable to contact your unit, request to be connected to the Patrick Command Post at (321) 494-7000, or DSN 854-7000. In the event of illness, death or natural disaster, contact the nearest American Red Cross chapter.

Patrick AFB has two gates; the Main Gate is open 24 hours and is located on Highway A1A and the South Gate is located on South Patrick Drive and is accessible from Pineda Causeway. Pass & Registration is located at the Main Gate, but visitor passes are available at both gates.

When you arrive, your first stop should be your commander's support staff (orderly room). Your sponsor can provide you with the phone number to your CSS. If you arrive after hours, on a weekend or on a holiday, you may sign in at the 24-hour arrival point located in the Lodging Office in Building 720.

The Space Coast, is a tourist haven due to its year-round warmth and abundant sunshine. Patrick has a warm climate throughout the year, with an average summer temperature of 90 degrees and the average winter temperature of 71 degrees. Hurricane season lasts from June to October and the 45th Space Wing takes hurricane preparedness very seriously. Military members are required to have a hurricane evacuation plan in place as well as an emergency response kit on hand. Once you arrive, you can log onto the Patrick AFB home page and download the Hurricane Emergency Plan to help you prepare for the hurricane season.

The Space Coast Inn is open 24 hours a day, year round to accommodate your check-in needs. Prior to arriving at Patrick, it is necessary to make reservations for a temporary lodging facility. Due to seasonal high occupancy rates, you are urged to contact lodging well in advance to secure your reservation. Reservations can be made by your sponsor or by directly calling (321) 494-6590.

Firearms are not permitted in any lodging facility or dormitory. Upon your arrival, you must contact the Security Forces Armory at (321) 494-3463 during duty hours or the Law Enforcement Desk after hours at (321) 494-2008 to store your weapons. Those living in base housing may retain their firearms and ammunition in their quarters by filling out an Air Force Form 1314 with your commander's signature. Once signed, the form must be brought to the 45th Security Forces Squadron Pass & ID section for registration.

Newcomers can receive mail via general delivery until they move into permanent housing. General delivery recipients at Patrick must check for mail as often as possible at the "military mail" window at the Post Office, Building 424. For those wishing to initiate general delivery at Patrick, please contact the Postal Service Center at (321) 494-4927. The pick up window is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The U.S. Post Office is adjacent to the military mail window. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed 1 to 2:15 p.m. for lunch.
