XVIII Airborne Corps Training Holidays:

Dental Clinics or DENTAC on Fort Bragg are open on most all XVIII Airborne Corps Training Holidays with the exceptions of Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Watch the Paraglide for closure announcements. Also, the clinic will post on its doors where to get emergency treatment whenever they are closed during normal duty hours.

Emergency Care: During duty hours, dental emergencies will be seen at the sponsor’s assigned dental clinic to relieve pain and correct acute conditions. After-hours dental emergencies, will be seen at WAMC Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic by the dentist-on-duty.

Active-duty Soldiers: receive full dental care. An examination is required yearly. Soldiers should report to their unit’s assigned clinic for examination. Follow-up care is by appointment.

Active-duty Family Members: The Department of Defense (DoD) TRICARE – Family Member Dental Plan (TFMDP) offered through MetLife provides a comprehensive dentistry benefit plan for active-duty family members. Enrolling in the TFMDP is voluntary and the active-duty member initiates enrollment of family members by going to the website or by mail. Retired Service Members: can enroll themselves and family members in the Retiree Tricare Dental Treatment Program which is administered by Delta Dental, go to their website www.trdp.org or by calling 888-838-8737.

Services Provided: Issues licenses and learner’s permits required to operate motor vehicles, and ID cards to non-drivers who are county residents. Organ donor status is indicated on license. Voter registration applications are available at all locations in conjunction with license/permit issuance. You have 60 days after establishing residence in North Carolina to renew your operator’s license. Everyone is required to take the written and vision tests to get a North Carolina license for the first time. A license may be obtained for a nominal fee from the Driver’s License Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles. No road testing is given after 1630. Fees involved may be paid in cash or check. Also administers road test for commercial driver’s license.

Services Provided: The Education staff is committed to providing quality services and programs to active-duty personnel, family members, retired military personnel and civilian personnel. Professional guidance counselors and counseling support staff provide a full range of adult and continuing education counseling. Individual counseling is available during normal duty hours on a walk-in basis. Counselors are also available to visit units and provide briefings to Soldiers and Commanders on the education opportunities at Fort Bragg.

How Positions are filled: A variety of recruiting sources is used to fill positions at Fort Bragg. Military spouse preference and family members are a major source of recruitment for managers and supervisors. Competition for jobs at Fort Bragg begins with registration in the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Family members are registered for occupational skills and grade levels for which qualified and eligible. While registration in the program does not guarantee placement, it does provide priority consideration. Family members are referred for employment consideration as vacancies occur in occupations for which they are registered.

Job Information: Fort Bragg Civilian Personnel provides counseling and support services for spouses and family members. It also provides registration services for eligible family members.
