Services Provided: The Fort Bragg Crime Prevention mission is to help you avoid becoming a victim of crime. In addition to offering a wide variety of suggestions to help you better secure your home and valuables, we offer do it yourself instructions on the installation of better locking devices on windows and doors and other methods of reinforcing your locks as a first-line defense against burglary. The Crime Prevention Office also assists communities in setting up Community Watch programs, which are a proven method of preventing burglary and vandalism. Classes and instruction are available for groups of concerned individuals. The classes offered are designed to teach protection methods against rape, burglary and child molestation. Pamphlets, handouts, housing crime prevention surveys and classes are available upon request.

MILITARY POLICE INVESTIGATIONS (MPI) SECTION

Services Provided: MPI Section conducts investigations of offenses which are outlined in Chapter 3, AR 190-30, and all offenses directed by the provost marshal or NCOIC of the MPI section (i.e. assaults, domestics, larceny of private property; larceny of government property, including shoplifting; worthless checks; child abuse/neglect). The MPI section also does fingerprints for secret clearances. An MPI investigator is assigned to the Albritton Junior High school as SRO, and MPI handles matters concerning juvenile offenders. Conduct protective service missions and undercover investigations when necessary.

Services Provided: Investigators reconstruct traffic collisions involving major injuries, fatalities or extensive property damage they also investigate accidents involving minor injuries or damage to government property. With the advanced training they can determine the causes of accidents, including operator error, environmental conditions and equipment failures. The team provides military police reports, accident information and testimony to magistrate courts, commanders, insurance agencies and other LE agencies when required. Other duties and responsibilities include conducting traffic control and safety operations, conducting speed enforcement, conducting drunk driver suppression operations, identifying and processing abandoned vehicles, preparing traffic studies and conducting special traffic enforcement (special events, emergency operations).

Service Provided: Privately owned firearms stored on the installation (whether in on-post quarters or in arms rooms) must be registered. Registration must be completed within five working days of reporting to Fort Bragg or within five working days of acquiring the weapon.

Registration of the weapon does not replace or relieve individuals of their responsibility to comply with applicable federal, state and local laws regarding possession, purchase, sale, transfer and transport of weapons.

Services Provided: The facility illustrates the history of special operation units in the U.S. Army and serves as the branch museum for the U.S. Army Special Forces. Exhibits are also located in the JFK Hall in the Hall of Heroes. This area honors those men who received the Medal of Honor in Vietnam and Somalia. The Col. Arthur D. “Bull” Simons Statue adjacent to the museum honors the man responsible for leading the Son Tay Raid into North Vietnam in 1970. The building the JFK museum occupies is also memorialized for this illustrious hero of Special Forces.
