Welcome to the wonderful world of Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Fort Bragg! The home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces provides military families with unique and thrilling events. MWR offers camping at Smith Lake, horseback riding at the stables, ice skating at Cleland Ice Rink, exciting rides at the fairs and the latest in music at our outdoor concerts.

MWR restaurants and clubs offer a variety of menu selections to satisfy any craving, from a hamburger at one of the bowling centers or golf courses to pizza at Sports USA. Visit McKellar's Lodge for their famous barbeque, try a specialty coffee at one of our Rituals Coffee Café's, or grab a home-style lunch at Iron Mike's Brew Pub. Alcohol and Drug Services
The Fort Bragg Army Substance Abuse Program includes educational classes, Soldier risk reduction consultation and urinalysis testing. To contact the Education Branch, call (910) 396-1016; urinalysis testing, call (910) 396-7071; Soldier Risk Reduction Program, call (910) 396-4100.

The ASAP Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential assessment and referral service. The program offers assistance for alcohol and drug abuse, referral services regarding health, family, marital relations, and financial and legal matters. Womack Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Services offer assistance to active duty military personnel. Army Community Service
ACS is an important part of the Army's program to assist Soldiers and their families in meeting specific needs. ACS offers a wide variety of programs tailored to assist Army families living on and off post. ACS is the place to go for answers to your questions and help with concerns or other issues facing military families.

Airborne Attic offers items free of charge that do not need to be returned. It is open to E-4s and below and their immediate family members only. E-5s and above will be allowed to use the Attic on an emergency basis only with approval from the Relocation Assistance Manager. Donations of clean, good condition household items are needed on an ongoing basis. For information, call (910) 396-8683.

Army Emergency Relief is a private, nonprofit organization established to assist Soldiers and their family members who are in emergency financial situations due to no fault of their own. Financial assistance is given in the form of an interest-free loan, grant or combination of the two. Call (910) 396-2507.

Deployment Readiness Program provides support and outreach to Soldiers and families in meeting the challenges and demands of deployment. Classes and workshops include: Pre-deployment, Children and Deployment, and Reunion. The program also offers training and resources for unit leaders and volunteers in building and maintaining Family Readiness Groups (FRG). Employment Readiness Program offers free workshops on career planning, resume writing and interviewing skills, as well as one-on- one counseling to assist spouses, active duty, National Guard, reservists, retirees, family members and DoD civilians. Exceptional Family Member Program provides assistance to Soldiers who have a family member with special needs. The EFMP coordinates a support/advocacy group, educational workshops and recreational activities. Information on community resources is also available through the EFMP. Call (910) 396-2749.

Family Advocacy Program provides a wealth of relationship and parenting support services, training and direct support for victims of partner abuse or sexual assault. Our services include:

Education and Prevention classes and resources are available to help cope with the demands of family life such as Parenting, Couples Communication, 8 Habits of a Successful Marriage, 7 Habits of Effective Families, Total Self-Defense Workshops and Stress/Anger Management.

New Parent Support Program provides outreach services to parents of children birth to three years old. Home visitors are licensed Social Workers and Registered Nurses. Classes include 12 Things to Know in the First 20 Weeks Infant Care, Parenting, Dad's 101 and play morning activities.

Child Advocate Program provides connections to support services within the community; child safety education programs for elementary school students and teens; and works in conjunction with other human service programs, both on and off post, that support and promote safe and healthy options for children/teens and families.

Victim Advocate Program is available if you need assistance from one of our Victim Advocates, or through a variety of off post services. If you are concerned about your privacy, you may call the hotline without giving your name at (910) 322-3418 and still get help.

Sexual Assault Response Program ensures all military personnel and the community are aware of how to prevent sexual assault or misconduct and how to find the best help for victims. The program conducts training for Unit Victim Advocates (two assigned per Battalion) and Deployable Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (one per Brigade), to assist sexual assault Soldier victims during deployment. Family Assistance Center. During large deployments or disasters, the Family Assistance Center provides Army families with up-to-date information on the situation as it is made available by the command. Call (800) 457-4636.

Financial Readiness Program provides personal financial readiness and consumer education programs for Soldiers and their family members, reserve components, Department of the Army civilians and their family members. Services include budget counseling, classes in budgeting and debt reduction, as well as resolution of consumer issues. Call (910) 396-2507.

• Installation Volunteer Services: 
   • Army Community Service Volunteer Program coordinates all volunteers within ACS. The ACS Volunteer Coordinator works with program managers to recruit volunteers based on program needs. Call (910) 396-7110.

   •Army Family Action Plan is a grassroots program designed to improve the quality of living and working environments not only at the installation level, but Army-wide. Issues are submitted year round and are monitored/tracked to ensure they are addressed by the appropriate authority. Call (910) 396-2458.

   • Army Family Team Building provides "basic training" for family members and includes information on Army life, training in leadership development skills, communication skills and other key elements that will enhance the Army experience.    • Army Volunteer Corps Coordinator serves as the central coordination point for all volunteer activities on Fort Bragg. The AVCC monitors registration and documentation of hours for all installation volunteers, provides guidance to volunteer agencies, processes all installation and higher level volunteer awards and assists with recruitment, training and recognition.    • Multicultural Readiness Program enables Soldiers and family members of foreign descent to have access to necessary resources needed to effectively interact within the Fort Bragg community and the USA regardless of language and/or cultural differences. The MRP provides key assistance for issues such as INS, citizenship, social security card, English as a second language, continuing education and many more.    • Relocation Readiness Program provides information on Fort Bragg as well as Army,Air Force, Navy and Marine installations worldwide. Information regarding housing, transportation, legal claims, EFMP, financial management and sponsorship is provided. The program also sponsors monthly pre-move briefings and a newcomer's bus tour. USO
The United Services Organization (USO) of Fort Bragg is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform.

If you enjoy playing a good game of pool, surfing the net, or watching a movie at your leisure, then the Fort Bragg USO recreational facility is for you. Recreation at the USO is entirely informal and enables you to use a facility in an unstructured setting for your own enjoyment. All amenities at the USO are free and available to all active duty military members, their dependents and guest for informal use during all hours of operations.

The Fort Bragg USO amenities include:
• Public Internet Café-computers are open to all visitors of the USO. Every computer is internet ready and on a high speed internet connection.
• Wireless Internet Access-The USO broadcast an open wireless network available to all patrons that wish to bring their personal laptop computers to the center.
• Video Game Room-XBOX 360, PlayStation 2, 1st Generation XBOX and Nintendo Wii Consoles.
• Movie Room-Watch your favorite movie on our 42" wall mounted plasma television or request a movie from our catalogue.
• Billiards Pool-3 regulation size tables.
• Games-We carry an assortment of video games for all of our gaming consoles. Rock Band, Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 and Guitar Hero are among our list of poplar games that we have available. We also carry a good variety of popular board games as well.

Veteran's Affairs Regional Office
The Winston-Salem Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office, Benefits Delivery Office is located in the Soldier Support Center, Building 4-2843 Normandy Street. VA counselors advise separating service members of the full range of healthcare, disability, home loans, vocational and educational benefits offered by VA. For those within six months of separation, VA accepts claims for benefits and provides a medical examination to record any disabilities. For those with disabilities and who are eligible for vocational rehabilitation assistance, VA counselors can meet with the separating soldiers to plan a program of education and training that will help them return to productive employment after discharge. Army Travel Camp Ground
Soldiers and their families traveling through the Fort Bragg area may camp in the Army Travel Camp, part of the Smith Lake Recreational Area off N.C. Highway 210. The camp includes 33 sites for recreational vehicles, eight small and two large cabins that include baths and kitchens. A daily fee is charged for use of the campsites and the cabins. Auction
The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Property Branch holds an auction every other month in Building 2-2814, Jackson Street. MWR property as well as furniture, electronic equipment, appliances, antiques and housewares are sold to the highest bidder. A ten percent buyer's fee is added to each sale. Call (910) 396-2802.

Auto Skills Development Centers
Fort Bragg's two auto skills development centers save you money by allowing you to work on your own car. Both shops have tools, computerized wheel balancing system, tire changers and hydraulic lifts. All information for repairs is from ALLDATA and Mitchell OnDemand CDs and DVDs. Trained mechanics are available to offer advice. A nominal bay fee is charged. There is also a charge for use of some equipment. North Carolina state inspections are also available. Registration for the POV Resale Lot is located at the COSCOM Auto Skills Center.

Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers
The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers Program supports the overall quality of life (QOL) for single and unaccompanied Soldiers. BOSS has three pillars: quality of life, recreation and leisure and community service.

The BOSS Program supports the chain of command by identifying quality of life issues and concerns and by providing recommendations for QOL improvements. The program also helps single Soldiers identify and plan recreational and leisure activities. BOSS provides an opportunity for single Soldiers to participate in and contribute to their respective communities through volunteer projects. Blackjack Recreation Center
Blackjack Recreation Center is located in Building M-4226 on Goldberg Street. The 4,300 square foot facility features a nine station cyber café, TV/movie room, leather recliners, pool tables, assorted table games and a video game room. Blackjack's Restaurant
Blackjack's is located inside the Stryker Golf Course clubhouse on Bragg Boulevard. It is designed for golfers on the go and anyone who loves a breathtaking view and great sandwiches. Blackjack's offers daily lunch specials and catering. Breakfast is available weekends and holidays. The restaurant is known for its hoagies, chicken wings, chili and hamburgers. Call (910) 396-4063.

Bowling
Fort Bragg has two full-service bowling centers offer 24-lanes, electronic-scoring, pro shops, snack bars, locker rental and professional ball drilling. Both have bumper bowling for children. The Airborne Lanes center also has a large-screen television to catch all your favorite sporting events and glow-in-the-dark Xtreme bowling.

Catering
Facilities within the Hospitality Division offer a wide range of catering possibilities. Formal and informal banquet arrangements and all types of unit activities may be made at the historic Officers' Club, (910) 907-CLUB. McKellar's Lodge, (910) 907-LAKE, provides very reasonable special party arrangements from wedding receptions to unit gatherings at a rustic and scenic setting. Sports USA, (910) 907-0739, provides great Primo's express menu items for your catering needs in a high-energy sports bar atmosphere. Stryker Golf Course, (910) 396-3980, and Ryder Golf Course, (910) 907-GOLF, provide excellent catered functions within their club houses. The Green Beret Club, (910) 436-4056, and the Yntema Club, (910) 396-3310, also provide outstanding catering services.

Child and Youth Services
Child and Youth Services is dedicated to making the care and program services of your children a comfortable and "known" factor. CYS encompasses programs for children 4 weeks to 18 years, no matter where you are stationed. You can expect and will receive the same programming, pricing and quality care. Fort Bragg has one of the best child provider and program services in the nation. Children of sponsors eligible to use MWR activities may use services provided by Child and Youth Services.

Child Development Services
Fort Bragg CDS provides care for children in two delivery systems: center-based and home-based (Family Child Care). Child care can be provided on a full-time, part-time or hourly basis for children 4 weeks to 12 years of age. Fort Bragg CDS provides developmental care for all children enrolled in any CDS program. Children are encouraged to explore and discover concepts through play and activities.

Parents are encouraged to reinforce these concepts at home. Daily activities are planned to enhance children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. Activities are posted in the home or center module for parents' information and participation. Training and Curriculum Specialists are responsible for monitoring the developmental program and providing training for the center staff and Family Child Care (FCC) providers. All toys and materials are developmentally appropriate. All CDS staff, as well as every FCC provider, has completed extensive training. Some of the areas of training include child development, child abuse prevention, recognition and reporting, CPR and first aid.

All Child Development Centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and star-licensed by the state of North Carolina. FCC homes are located on and off post. Some of the FCC homes are accredited by the National Association of Family Child Care Homes.

All children must be registered with CYS before enrolling in any CDS program. Parents must bring their child's current immunization record for children birth-4th grade, child's social security card, names and telephone numbers of three emergency contacts and the registration fee to the CYS Registration Office in the Soldier Support Center. The hours of operations for the full day Child Development Centers are Monday through Friday, 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rodriguez CDC operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All Child Development Centers are closed on weekends and federal holidays. A summer camp is provided for preschoolers at Rodriguez CDC. The "More @ Four" kindergarten preparatory program is offered at Fernandez, Cook and Rodriguez CDC.

School Age Services
School Age Services provides a wide range of supervised recreational and developmentally-appropriate activities for youth in kindergarten through fourth grade before/after school and during non-school hours. School Age Services has two sites on Fort Bragg: Rodriguez SAS located on Sicily Drive and Wonderful World for Kids located on Knox Street. Both offer a before and after school programs which operates Monday through Friday, 5:45 to 8 a.m. and 2:30 to 6 p.m. and from 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. on teacher workdays and school vacation periods. Transportation is provided to and from Fort Bragg Schools, enrichment classes and instructional programs. SAS also offers after school care for two off post elementary schools, W.T. Brown and Ben Martin. During school vacation periods, year-round school intercessions SAS offers fullday and half-day camp programs.

Our mission is to expose school age children to a wide range of age-appropriate recreational programs that will incorporate character-building concepts through activities and social interaction. School age activities are designed to enhance positive attitudes in learning and self-development; to aid children in developing proper study habits; to provide children challenging activities; and to promote self-esteem, citizenship, responsibility, cooperation, respect, fairness, trustworthiness and caring.   Children must be registered before enrolling in SAS programs.

Youth Education Support Services
Youth Education Support Services (YESS) provides services and programs that address community and school transition issues, student and parent advocacy and builds partnerships to enhance the educational environment and leadership experiences of children and youth. The YESS program is comprised of the School Liaison Services and Youth Education Liaison Services.

Youth Education Liaison Services include the Youth Sponsorship Program (integration of youth to their new community), America's Promise Youth Volunteers Program (recruitment, registration, placement and recognition of youth volunteers), Youth Leadership Initiatives (coordination of youth leadership awards and recognition), Army Family Action Program (AFAP) (youth delegates, and other leadership training and activities), Youth Computer Lab and Homework Center Linkages (resource and referral for Fort Bragg and surrounding community), Community Partnerships Initiatives (facilitation of youth serving organization partnership, including Child and Youth Action Council, 4-H, Community Life Program (CLP), and Instructional Programs (School of Life: SAT/ACT preparation, transition workshops, job fairs, etc.). The School Liaison Services programs include School Transition Support (integration of military children into the local school system), Post Secondary Opportunities (resource and referral for workforce development and higher education), Home School Support (resources and referral education, etc.), Partners in Education (PIE), and Installation/ School Communication (representative for issues involving public schools and the military). Youth Services Programs
Youth Services provides a range of recreational and developmental activities for youth of the military community. Children of active duty, military retirees and Department of Defense civilians are eligible to participate. SKIES Instructional programs are available for a range of ages, 2 to 18 years of age, depending on the specific activity and developmental appropriateness. Programs include beginner to advanced levels of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, gymnastics, Karate, piano and swimming. Instructional classes may vary depending on availability of instructors and interest that may arise during a program year. Special programs for ages 4 and 5 are available and target creative movement dance, tumbling and toddler swimming classes. Parent and Me classes designed for parents and 2 to 4 year olds are offered for creative dance movement and tumbling/balance activities. SKIES classes vary in price and times depending upon availability of instructors. New programs may be added during the program year based on need and availability of instructors. Middle school and teen daily free choice activities are offered after school and on weekends. Activities range from daily options in 4-H or Boys and Girls Club activities including cooking club, computer skills, sewing club, ultimate journey (environmental awareness) club, smart moves club (targeting fun activities to teach resistance to at-risk behaviors), homework center staffed with a North Carolina certified secondary education teacher, crafts, indoor games that promote fitness, pick-up sports activities, swimming, youth councils, theme activities and game room events. Opportunities for youth to volunteer in community service and mentoring programs are available with incentives for volunteer hours. Out of school camps are available for youth in fifth through ninth grade.

Special events are offered on weekends. Events range from talent showcases, recitals, parent/youth deer hunting, dances, theme nights, lock-ins, trips, holiday events, Keystone (teen council) events/fundraisers and 5-on-5 basketball contests. Youth sports leagues are fielded seasonally in virtually every major sport. Sports offered include soccer, t-ball, coach pitch, baseball, softball, flag football, tackle football, ice hockey, cheer-leading and basketball. All teams are coached by volunteers who are trained and certified through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association. All youth participating must have a current sport specific physical completed prior to practices starting. Fees are assessed according to the particular sport and uniforms are issued for use during the season with the exception of shoes.
