The Garrison provides to the greater Fort Knox community essential services, support and facilities necessary for quality of life and organizational missions.
The Fort Knox Directorate of Contracting serves as the Army Contracting
Agency's mechanism for supported customers.As such, it is engaged in
the performance of acquisition planning,market research, contract pricing,
procurement, contract administration, management and associated
support programs to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned missions
to meet the unique and special needs of the Army.Areas of emphasis include
contracting for construction, supplies, and services; liaison with post organizations
to ensure proper acquisition coordination; serving as program
coordinator for the Government Purchase Card; and serving as the
Command's representative in all dealings with suppliers and contractors.
The Directorate of Plans,Training,Mobilization and Security's responsibilities
include developing,managing and executing contingency,mobility
and interagency plans; force integration, force protection, scheduling of
resident and non-resident training and The Army School System management
and support. It also interfaces with the Armor School and units using
new armor and cavalry systems; manages, controls, schedules, maintains,
and develops range complexes and
training areas; provides training aids and
devices; Godman Army Airfield; and
provides visual information and graphics support. G-3 is responsible for the installation's operational,
personnel and information security, providing video support to armor and
Army-wide customers and coordinating training and logistical support for
all Reserve Component unit training.
The Directorate of Information Management programs, plans, operates,
maintains and manages information management functions in support of
the U.S. Army Armor Center and U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Knox. DOIM's
responsibilities also include voice/data communications, operation of the
video teleconference center, records and forms management, Privacy Act,
Freedom of Information Act, copier management, classified document
control, mail/postal/distribution center management, correspondence,
publications and blank forms supply.
The Internal Review and Audit Compliance Office provides a wide
variety of professional audit services. An Annual Audit Program is
assembled and approved by the commanding
general based on request from management and risk assessments.Some of the
services provided are Full Scope Audits, Quick
Response Reviews and Consulting and Advisory Services.
This office also provides audit liaison with all
external audit agencies.
