Garrison Command has more than 3,000 Soldiers,
government civilians and contract personnel
in its diverse work force. These
dedicated people support the training mission
of the installation, mobilize and deploy active
and reserve component units and personnel,
and operate and maintain the installation facilities
and programs that ensure an excellent
quality of life for assigned service personnel,
civilians and their families. Garrison Command
ensures all service members and their families
have the facilities and services they need to be
innovative and productive in their assignment
and to fully enjoy their new home in the Heart
of the Ozarks. We also strive to be active civic
partners in the region, helping to improve quality
of life and opportunities for all citizens. For

has the following subordinate commands, directorates
and offices.
The Directorate of Human Resources mans
and sustains Fort Leonard Wood's military
force, providing military personnel management,
advice on military personnel and administrative
policies, programs, procedures,
military personnel service support to commanders,
Soldiers, retirees, Army Reserve and
National Guard Soldiers, civilians/ contractors,
as well as eligible family members within Fort
Leonard Wood's area of responsibility.
The staff also provides personnel service
support to students/trainees, initial-entry Soldiers,
retirees, Army Reserve and National Guard
Soldiers and eligible family members. The office
is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to
4:30 p.m., and is located in the Community
Service Center (Dillard Hall), Building 470,
where many in-processing and out-processing
functions are centralized.
Services Division provides customer and personnel
service for all Soldiers assigned to Fort
Leonard Wood that includes in and out processing,
promotions, personnel records, evaluations,
reassignment processing, strength management
and special action programs.

The Transition/Casualty Division provides customer
service for processing military awards,
OCONUS travel clearances, emergency leaves,
OCS/WO/Recruiter applications, Soldier actions,
casualty assistance, preparation of DD Forms
214, discharge/REFRAD orders, retirement
applications, survivor benefit counseling, retirement
briefings, retiree council meetings, retiree
appreciation day and separations.
