The nonprofit Armed Services YMCA of Alaska offers programs and services for our military and their families to provide a support network and recreational opportunities and help make military life easier. There are more than 20 free and low-cost programs and services, and unlike the usual community Y with the swim and gym, there are no membership fees or dues to use the programs.

Here are a few of the programs and services:

  • Teddy’s Child Watch — free child care during medical appointments
  • Baby Bundles
  • Y on Wheels Shuttle Service — door-to-door on-base shuttle for $1 per ride. Call 907-384-3733 for pickup
  • Military Welcome Centers — get information about our programs and services
  • Airport Military Courtesy Lounges — in Anchorage and Fairbanks airports
  • Free tickets and giveaways
  • Father-Daughter Gala
  • Mother-Son Adventure
  • Food pantry
