75th Commemoration of Pearl Harbor - Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future

The 75th Commemoration events take place from December 1-11, 2016, and are designed to attract thousands of global visitors and Hawaii residents. Media coverage will reach millions worldwide. Centered around National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on December 7th, other ceremonies and events include Memorials dedicated to USS Utah and USS Oklahoma, the reconciliation “Blackened Canteen Ceremony” at the USS Arizona Memorial, a luncheon honoring the units of Americans of Japanese Ancestry, a Pearl Harbor documentary film premiere, historic movie series on Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor Survivor Gala Tribute, Celebration for Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families, and a culminating, world-class live concert that is being planned at Aloha Stadium.

The Commemoration is a planned approach that will unite the ceremonial remembrances at historic locations around O‘ahu with other programs and activities into an eleven day experience that promotes remembrance, tribute and aspiration for a future enriched by friendship and peace.

75th Commemoration Events will stir reflection, stimulate engagement and generate inspiration among attendees, young and old, of all backgrounds.

The Commemoration Week will welcome Pearl Harbor survivors and WWII veterans, along with their families, senior military leaders, members of Congress, State Governors, corporate and civic leaders, past and present, as well as the public…locally, nationally and internationally.
