From the Airport

Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, Naval Support Activity Panama City

Exiting the airport, drive south for roughly 2.5 miles and turn right onto State Highway 388 and travel for 5.4 miles. Then turn left onto FL-79 (south) heading towards the beaches. Take FL-79 for 5.2 miles and then turn left onto US-98/Panama City Beach Pkwy/FL-30A. Travel 7.6 miles on US-98 and then take the ramp onto Thomas Drive/NSA Main Gate/Bay Point. You will approach a light immediately, turning left onto Front Beach Road for .10 mile. Make sure to stay in the far right lane so that you may take the first exit to the right for CR 392/Thomas Drive. Then turn right onto to CR 392/Thomas Drive and travel for 1 mile. The NSA Main Gate will be on your left, turning left onto Skylark Drive. The visitor's reception center will be on your right, just before approaching the gates.

The airport opened up a new, Military Welcome Center in January of 2011, which is located near the baggage claim. The 2,300 square feet facility has computers, wi-fi, phone chargers, snacks, drinks, etc. all for members of the military. In addition, they have a wealth of area information offered in free maps, books, and other pamphlets.

Directions by Car

If arriving by POV, there are two major highways running into the Panama City area--US Highways 231 and 98. Highway 231 runs North and South, and crosses Highway 98. Highway 98 runs East and West and passes by the Naval Support Activity Panama City. Interstate 10 (crossing North Florida and the Panhandle East and West), is approximately 50 miles north of Panama City. If traveling I-10, look for HWY 231 South. At the intersection of HWY 231 and HWY 98 (in Panama City), turn right and travel along HWY 98 West. Cross over the Hathaway Bridge and prepare to turn left at the 2nd traffic light (Thomas Drive). Travel south on Thomas Drive and go approximately 1/4 mile and turn left on to the station via the Main Gate.

The Visitor Reception Center is on the right, just before approaching the gates. Please have a current copy of your vehicle registration and proof of insurance, along with a valid driver's license.

Directions by Bus/Train

The Greyhound Bus Line's Panama City office is located at 917 Harrison Avenue (downtown Panama City). To get to NSA Panama City, go North on Harrison Avenue until it intersects with 15th Street (Business Hwy 98-1st traffic light). Turn left and proceed west on 98 for approximately 6 miles, crossing the Hathaway Bridge. Cross over the Hathaway Bridge and prepare to turn left at the 2nd traffic light (Thomas Drive). Travel south on Thomas Drive and go approximately 1/4 mile and turn left on to the station via the Main Gate. The Visitor Reception Center is just inside the gate on the right.
