Naval Air Station Fallon | Services
Branch Naval Health Clinic (BNHC) Fallon is a division of Naval Hospital, Lemoore, California. We provide outpatient medical and dental care to eligible beneficiaries assigned to and within a 40-mile radius of Naval Air Station Fallon. Services include active duty sick call, family practice, general dentistry, basic dental specialty services, laboratory, pharmacy, immunizations, minor x-ray services as well as occupational and preventive health.

Because of our remote location and limited medical and dental capabilities, isolated duty screening for all active duty and their family members is required prior to transferring to Fallon.

All medical appointments are made in Lemoore, Calif. The appointment desk is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Active Duty Immediate Care. Monday through Friday, 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Active Duty must pick up their health records at the records room before signing in at sick call. No chronic problems or PRT screenings.

Acute/Same Day/Open Access. These appointments are for all appointment types excluding well-baby/child, female annual exams and routine physicals. May be used for school/sports physicals.

After hours. If there is a medical problem that needs to be seen over the weekend or after hours during the week, call 426-9265 to speak with the duty corpsman.

Wellness/PCM visits. This is for all new patients, well-baby/child, physicals or complex problems.

Emergency Care. BNHC Fallon does not have an emergency room or urgent care clinic. If you have a medical emergency, dial 911 immediately or go to your nearest hospital.

Telephone Consults. If you call the clinic with a question about your health care, medications, diagnosis or other issues, the staff will generate a computer message called a telephone consult. Your health care provider will return your call within 48 hours.

Immunizations are given to TRICARE Prime beneficiaries assigned to BNHC Fallon. Beneficiaries who are assigned to Primary Care providers outside the clinic must obtain immunizations from their Primary Care Manager (PCM).

Most specialty care providers are located in Reno and Carson City, approximately 70 miles from Fallon, requiring a drive of at least one hour. Some specialty care requires referral to Sacramento, Lemoore or San Diego. Referrals are made by the PCM and must be processed by TRICARE.

Beneficiaries who become pregnant while in Fallon will be referred to obstetrical care in the network. The obstetrician will become the primary care provider for the duration of the pregnancy, delivery and post-partum period. After the post-partum period, the beneficiary can return to BNHC Fallon.

BNHC Fallon does not have an urgent care center or emergency room. If you feel you have an emergency, go to the nearest ER. After the emergency is taken care of, contact the clinic (426-3100/426-9265) to notify your PCM. If you or your family member becomes ill after clinic hours, call 426-9265 for instructions.

BNHC Fallon provides general dentistry and basic dental specialty services to active duty personnel and emergency dental care to all beneficiaries.

All family members are strongly encouraged (even those under 4-years-of-age) to be enrolled in the TRICARE Family Member Dental Plan (TFMDP) administered by United Concordia Company, Inc. (UCCI). This must be done by the service member using an application available at CSD, BNHC Fallon or online at http://www.ucci.com.

General dentistry services are available in the city of Fallon. However, patients must travel to either Reno or Carson City for most specialty care.

The TRICARE Service Center (TSC) is located within BNHC Fallon and manages all TRICARE related counseling, billing inquiries and Prime enrollment.

NAS Fallon has a Child Development Center (CDC) with nearly 115 children. Children can enter at 11 months old and remain through pre-kindergarten. Special needs children are accommodated. The center is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Educational Technicians are trained in First Aid and CPR. They all meet BUPERS and NAEYC caretaker standards. Weekly fees depend on total family income. The CDC is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. NAS Fallon has no DoD schools. All children living in base housing attend Churchill County Schools. Call (775) 423-5808 for more information.

As an alternative to the center-based care provided by the CDC, the Child Development Homes (CDH) program offers home-based childcare. CDH providers go through a complete training program like their CDC counterparts and are certified in First Aid and CPR. All CDH homes are inspected to ensure they meet all base and USDA food and health regulations. Call (775) 423-0220 for more information.
