personnel checking into NSA Mid-South should check in at the NSA Admin Office on the second deck in the Fuqua Building (S-455) during normal work hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). After normal work hours and on weekends, NSA Mid-South personnel should check in at the Security Office, Shields Building (S-237), 874-5533, who will contact the CDO.
Personnel checking into tenant activities should check in with their parent commands during normal work hours. After normal work hours and on weekends, tenant personnel should also check in at the Security Office who will contact the CDO.
The Personnel Support Activity Detachment, Memphis, ID Card Section, on the first floor of the Wainwright Building (S-456) (901) 874-5140, Ext. 1335/6/7, issues military identification cards for eligible active duty, reserve and retired personnel, and their family members. The sponsor must be present for signature prior to issuance of ID cards to authorized family members. A power of attorney from the sponsor will also be accepted. Normal customer service hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours to 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Personal Property Shipping Office, located in the Wainwright Building (S-456), is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This office assists incoming and departing personnel and their dependents with shipments, storage, unaccompanied baggage, movement of mobile homes, arrangement of rental trucks and trailers under the DITY Program and assistance with loss and damage claims. Bicycle registration is strongly recommended with Security’s Access Control Branch (Shields Building S-237). Registration can facilitate the return of a bike that is lost or stolen. Bicyclists must comply with all traffic regulations.
The Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS/RAPIDS) may be verified through the Personnel Support Activity Detachment, Memphis. When enrolling or deleting dependents from DEERS/RAPIDS, ensure documents such as birth certificates, Social Security cards, marriage certificate, adoption papers, divorce decrees and other applicable documents are provided for verification prior to updating DEERS/RAPIDS. Normal customer service hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with extended hours to 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Questions may be addressed at (901) 874-5140, Ext. 1335/6/7.
Any person residing on board NSA Mid-South must register all firearms with the Security Office Armory (Shields Building, S-237), 874-5665. Personnel occupying quarters may keep their firearms in their quarters. Those living in the barracks must place their firearms and ammunition in the Security Office Armory for safekeeping. Information necessary to register firearms with the Security Office includes: type, caliber, manufacturer and serial number.
Motorcycles may be registered at the Vehicle Registration Office located in the Pass and ID Building (938), 874-5537. Take the motorcycle to the VRO with valid documentation: ID card, driver’s license, registration, proof that the owners and operators have completed the Motorcycle Defensive Driving Course and proof of insurance. The following protective clothing will be worn when driving motorcycles on base; a DOT approved helmet, full fingered gloves, reflective vest during nighttime hours, long pants, long sleeve shirt/jacket, hard-sole shoes covering the ankle, and eye protection consisting of a face shield, goggles or wrap around safety glasses that have side shields.
