The Auto Skills Center has three work-bays, two oil change lifts and one frame lift (small cars only) available for patron use. The center is a self-service facility. Available equipment for the do-it-yourself patron includes a battery charger and hand tools. There is one indoor do-it- yourself car wash bay and two outdoor vacuums available for a nominal fee.

The Clinic Café is located at the New England Health Care Clinic on Smith Street. Whether waiting for a medical appointment or just having a physical, don’t hesitate to stop by and purchase a cup of coffee or enjoy a light breakfast. Personal trainers are available for guidance in exercise and nutrition. To request a trainer, please call 841-7355 or stop by Gym 109 to fill out a request form. Basketball, squash and racquetball courts are also available. ID cards are required for admission at all times.
Harbor Island Conference Center684 Perry Road
Telephone: 841-3420Federal agencies and military groups are eligible to rent the Harbor Island Conference Center at NAVSTA Newport. Training rooms feature state-of-the-art presentation equipment and comfortable seating at tables with plenty of workspace. Audio/visual equipment includes ceiling-mounted projectors, computers for presentations (i.e., Power Point), wireless mouse, laser pointer, document cameras, microphones for panel discussions, video cassette recorders, electronic print boards, overhead projectors and easels with flip chart paper. Video Teleconferencing is also available with Tandberg Vision 5000 technology, providing high-quality VTC connections via ISDN lines, up to 384 kbps (6 channels. Touch-screen lecterns control the equipment with a touch of a finger making presentations easy and professional. Catering services can be arranged. Other amenities for conference attendees include computer stations with internet access, fax, copier and color printing capabilities. The America’s Cup Café is located in the lobby. The café proudly brews Starbucks’ coffee and serves hot and cold beverages, light breakfast items, lunch and snacks. To reserve a conference room, contact the Officers’ Club Catering Office at 841-1442. The conference center and café are open Monday through Friday.

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Located inside the Naval War College, the café is known as the most popular coffee spot visited on a daily basis by students and patrons. Enjoy the beautiful view of the Narragansett Bay while taking advantage of café dining and the large variety of items available.
Daily lunch “specials” are served Monday through Friday. A scrumptious salad or a hearty sandwich prepared at the salad and deli bar is enough to satisfy any hungry appetite. Don’t forget dessert, try a cup of delicious soft serve ice cream, a variety of pies, or fresh cut fruit. Sushi is also available Monday through Thursday during the school year.
The full-service café personnel are skilled in the catering field and often cater for retirement/promotion ceremonies, conferences, War Games, and distinguished guests. The cafe’s famous over-stuffed wraps and fresh baked cookies are also available at the MWR Leisure Bay and America’s Cup Cafés located on the Navy Base or the Clinic Café located inside the New England Health Care Clinic.

ITT is co-located with the Leisure Bay Internet Café and Coffee Shop. Tickets are available for seasonal, sporting, and local events, theme parks and attractions, as well as special events at the Officers’ Club. Stop in often, as the ticket inventory is always changing! ?e MWR 33-passenger bus is available for charter through the ITT Office. Registration for the Car Sale Lot, RV sites and tent sites at Carr Point are processed at the ITT Office also.

Located near Gate 1, across from the Officers’ Club, the Navy Sailing Center offers sailing and power boating classes to authorized patrons, ages 18 and older, and to children, ages 12 through 15 if accompanied by an adult sponsor while taking the course. Berthing is available, as well as a boat launching ramp for towed boats. Sailboats, powerboats and kayaks may be rented with an appropriate qualification card.

The recently renovated grand ballroom is the perfect setting for events such as weddings, a dining-in, dinner dances, luncheons and meetings. The grand ballroom is fitted with three drop down screens, built-in LCD projectors, and complete audio hook-ups. The Constellation Room, Gearing Room and Topside Pub have been newly renovated.
Enjoy the All Hands casual dining experience for lunch, either on the South Deck - weather permitting, or in the casual bar area Topside. The South Deck sits right on the water and offers a full-size sit down bar with flat panel televisions and a glorious view of Narragansett Bay. Café-style seating is also available. • Carr Point Picnic and Recreation Area is located north of Pier 2 on Burma Road in Portsmouth. Three picnic areas with pavilions, barbecue pits, two softball fields, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits and port-o-john facilities are available. The reservations for tent sites call the ITT Office at 841-3116, for pavilions call the Officers’ Club Catering Office at 841-1442.
• Football/Soccer/Softball Fields, Lawrence and Carr Point Fields Intramural sports programs have first priority on these fields; however, Lawrence Field may be reserved by calling the Gym 109 at 841-7355, for Carr Point Fields call the Officers’ Club Catering Office at 841-1442.
• Tennis Courts
Four Har-Tru courts, located near Gate 1, are available on a first-come, first-serve basis from May 30 to Labor Day, weather permitting. Users of these courts are asked Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 4 to 11 p.m.; open Sunday for football games.

Visit the recently renovated Seaview Lanes Bowling Center for a friendly game of bowling! The 12-lane center offers ten-pin bowling with a state-of-the-art electronic scoring and sound system, as well as automatic bumpers for kids! Xtreme Bowling is held every Saturday night and features glow-in-the-dark balls, lanes, shoes, pins, floor and carpet. Flashing neon lights illuminate the center for a fun family experience! The Liberty Program schedules and plans activities and trips targeted to single and unaccompanied service members. The Liberty Center has eight computer stations with free Internet access, plus the wireless capacity to accommodate up to 12 personal laptops at once. There are pool tables, a foosball table, ping pong, three video gaming stations with XBOX 360, XBOX, Playstation 2 and Wii video game systems and two TV viewing areas with recliners. There is also a small movie viewing room offering free movies from the Navy Motion Picture Service (NMPS). A “Book Swap” area is available, as well as books from the Navy Professional Readiness Program. Food is available from the Recreation Center menu.
