BRANCH HEALTH CLINIC
The Branch Health Clinic Oceana, with locations at NAS Oceana and Dam Neck Annex, provides primary health care to active duty, retired military, their spouses and Civil Service employees requiring care associated with occupational health issues. Aviation Medicine/ Physical Exams
Active duty physical exams are by appointment only. Routine screenings (i.e. fire fighting, extension) are conducted on a walk-in basis. Clearance Notices (Upchits) are completed on a walk-in basis between the hours of 7 to 8 a.m. and 12:30 to 2 p.m. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 953-3776/3779.

Physical Therapy
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closed for lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. except Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is an Active Duty only clinic that requires a consultation for an appointment. For more information, call 433-1523.

Immunization Clinic
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The Yellow Fever Vaccine is given every Friday of the month, 8 to 9 a.m. Allergy shots are given Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. PPD's are not given on Thursday. No appointment is necessary; patients are seen on a first come, first served basis. For any questions, call 953-3837.

Pharmacy Services
The Pharmacy Division provides prescription service to Active Duty and to all eligible bene Xciaries. The Pharmacy is open for businessMonday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Patients presenting with civilian prescriptions will be checked in at the Pharmacy desk until 6:15 p.m. daily. The Pharmacy is closed on Saturday, Sunday and all Federal holidays for civilian prescriptions. The Pharmacy at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth is open Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for those needing weekend service.

Refill service is available by calling 953-6337. Refills are available for pick-up at the clinic in 48 hours. Refills may be picked up daily, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Refills are not available for pickup on Sunday or Federal holidays.Medications not picked up within five working days are returned to stock.We ask for your support in picking up your medication on time, as failing to do so impacts yourself as well as other patrons.A limited number of over the counter medications are available without prescription. Please report to the Pharmacy check-in desk for a request form. These medications are treated as any other medication and are added to your profile to check for drug interactions or allergies. Active Duty in uniform presenting prescriptions for themselves is given head of line privileges. Our Pharmacy is committed to ensuring the health and welfare of our Active Duty forces remain our primary focus though we are like wise committed to serving family members and the retired community. Medical Records
The Medical Records Division is open Monday through Friday to serveActive Duty personnel from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and military family members from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Active Duty personnel reporting/detaching from NAS Oceana will report/ detachMonday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.We are also open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday for record retrieval. In order to receive your medical record, please have either a military identification card or a family member identification card available. Please keep in mind that without a Medical Power of Attorney, medical records will not be checked out to spouses or any unauthorized patrons.

Consult Control
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4 p.m. The primary care provider at the Branch Medical Clinic, Oceana, enters all consults into the electronic referral system. The provider sends the patient to the Consult Control Division, located within the Medical Records Division, to have a hard copy placed in the record. When the patient comes to the Consult Control Division, they will be given instructions on scheduling the appointment. The appointments are booked through (866) 645-4584. Overseas/Sea Duty Screening
The purpose of the overseas screening process is to ensure you and your family members are qualiXed for overseas assignments. Sea duty screening is to ensure Active Duty members are fit for sea duty. Time management is essential since this process usually takes a few days to complete. It is done on a walk-in basis Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (closedWednesday and Friday), 7 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m.Upon reporting,make sure you have your medical and dental records and a copy of your transfer orders.We will review your records for any chronic illnesses and make sure there is nothing pending.Your physical exammust be current and up to date. Once the record is reviewed, you will proceed to the Laboratory, Immunizations and the Dental Clinic to complete the process. Upon completion, report back to the check-in desk for finalization. Optometry
Eye exams and a selection of glasses are available to allActive Duty personnel at Branch Health Clinic, Oceana Optometry Division. All patients are seen by appointment. Please call the Tricare Service Center to schedule your eye appointment at (866) 645-4584.Active Duty members are eligible to order one new frame of choice (FOC) each year. Retirees with a current prescription froma civilian doctor are eligible to order one pair of glasses per year in the standard, Navy issue brown plastic frame. Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK, a form of laser vision correction) is available to Active Duty Navy personnel on a very limited basis. If you desire to be placed on the waiting list for PRK, please notify the optometrist at the time of your appointment. Those personnel who work in an environment where glasses pose a safety hazard will be given first priority for laser surgery. Formore information about PRK, call DSN 524-0555.

Radiology
Radiology (x-ray) Exams are done on a walk-in basis only. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon; and Sunday, 8 to 10 a.m. forActive Duty sick call only. Exams are done on a first come, first served basis. Urgent cases are seen first. Special procedures such as bariumswallow, oral cholecystogram, ultrasound, and Computed Tomography scans are scheduled by our clinic but the procedure will be done atNavalMedicalCenter, Portsmouth or Branch Health Clinic, Boone, NavalAmphibious Base.

Health Promotion Information
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Classes offered include nutrition, tobacco cessation and weight/cholesterol/ hypertension management. Classes are scheduled by appointment only. Please call Tricare at (866) 645-4584 or directly to the clinic at 953-3838.

Laboratory Division
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. and Saturday, 8 to 11:45 a.m. Civilian prescriptions are honored for tests performed on-site and at military reference laboratories. Civilian prescriptions are NOT honored for tests that are performed at the commercial reference laboratory. Please call the Laboratory directly at 953-3831 to inquire about the lab tests that have been ordered by civilian prescription. Medicare customers are welcomed for laboratory service. If interested in becoming a bone marrow donor, please contact the Laboratory Division Officer or Quality Assurance Technologist at 953-3830.

Health BeneDts
The Health Benefits office is located inside the Branch Health Clinic, Naval Air Station, Oceana. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Health BeneXts Advisors (HBA) provide basic TRICARE information including how to file a claim, explanation of a benefits statement, supplemental insurance information and TRICARE updates.

Active Duty Claims are bills incurred from non-military treatment facilities (i.e. emergency room, etc.). Local providers in the area will file Active Duty claims with the TRICARE claims processor. For out-of-area care, be sure to advise the provider to file with TRICARE Region North, Active Duty Claims, P.O. Box 7025, Camden, SC 29020-7025.

Health Benefits Advisors also have another role as the Debt Collection Assistance Officer (DCAO). The DCAO manages and tracks debt collection concerns of Tricare beneficiaries. If you have any questions, please contact the HBA ofXce at 953-3881/3883/3884.

Occupational Health Division
TheOccupationalHealthDivision is openMonday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Physical exams for medical surveillance and certifications are performed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday by appointment. Call 314-7140 to schedule an appointment. Civilian employees who are injured at work are seen during normal working hours. The Occupational Health Nurse can be reached at 953-3775.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)
EFMP is a program designed to identify family members with long term health care or educational needs. Hours of operation areMonday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. For additional information, call 953-3760.

DAM NECK ANNEX
Dam NeckAnnex provides primary health care to active duty personnel assigned to Dam NeckAnnex and tenant commands. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Appointments are scheduled through the Hampton Roads Appointment Center by calling (866) 645-4584.

Sick Call
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Services include Wart Clinic, Physical Exams, PFB Clinic, PRT Screenings, Sea Duty Screenings, Overseas Screenings, and Immunizations. Appointments may be obtained by calling TRICARE at (800) 931-9501. If you have an emergency on base, call 492-6911, for off-base emergencies, please call 911. If you have any questions pertaining to non-emergent medical advice, you can contact the Nurse Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the TRICARE number listed above.

Physical Exams
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 to 11 a.m. Report no later than 7 a.m. in the Uniform of the Day. Please make sure you bring your Military ID, Medical and Dental Records and a black ink pen. You will be required to do the following: 1. Fast for 12 hours prior to your physical exam (nothing to eat or drink except for water). You may take your medications as needed. 2. Leave any prescription contact lenses off for 24 hours prior to your appointment and bring your prescription eyeglasses. Re-enlistment physicals are scheduled by appointment only. Please ensure your five-year physical is up-to-date. Appointments are typically made four weeks in advance, so please plan ahead.

Immunizations
Hours of operation for routine immunizations and allergy shots are on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Yellow Fever vaccine is given every Friday of each month, 8 to 9 a.m. PPDs will not be administered on Thursday or Friday due to a required 72-hour follow-up.

Medical Records
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hours of operation for personnel checking into the Base are from 7:30 to 11 a.m., and 1 to 3 p.m. Personnel who are checking out can do so at any time during normal working hours.
