Boise National Forest

The Boise National Forest includes about 2.6 million acres of forest land north and east of the city of Boise. The forest has a lot to offer including camping, hiking, fishing, boating and natural hot springs.

Bruneau Dunes State Park Observatory

Star gaze at the Bruneau Dunes State Park Observatory and see the night sky as you’ve never seen it before. You can attend a presentation at the Steele-Reese Education Center and view a planet, nebula, moon or galaxy through the “Obsession” 25-inch Newtonian Reflector telescope. The observatory is open to the public from April through October on Friday and Saturday nights only, weather permitting.

Carl Miller Park

Carl Miller Park is the ideal location to hold a community event or gathering. This 4.8-acre park is filled with large trees and plenty of shade. An F-111 is on display showing the town’s pride in the U.S. Air Force. Every September, Carl Miller Park hosts Air Force Appreciation Day, with a day full of activities including a parade and a free community barbecue.

This 613-acre park has a lot to offer its visitors, including the Oregon Trail History and Education Center where you can learn about the 19th century pioneers who dared to cross the mighty Snake River, disc golf at Three Island, fishing and camping.
