Amish Country Bike Tour

Take in the scenery from a bike saddle during Delaware’s largest and most-established cycling event. Rest stops include the Amish Schoolhouse, where Amish serve home-baked pies and cookies. The bike tour is held in September. Course routes of 15, 25, 50, 62 and 100 miles start and stop at the Legislative Mall in Dover.

Delaware State Fair

The 10-day state fair draws nearly 300,000 people to the 300-acre fairgrounds, which encompass several businesses such as the Centre Ice Rink and the Harrington Raceway & Casino. In addition to dynamic entertainers and an exciting carnival, the fair strives to maintain its roots in agriculture. The fair is held in late July at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington.

Dover Days

Celebrating more than 80 years, the Dover Days Festival is held in early May at two outdoor parks in the historic downtown district: The Green and the Legislative Mall. One of the state’s longest-running celebrations, Dover Days celebrates First State history with a blend of traditions and modern attractions ranging from the Kids Zone to the classic car show, as well as many food vendors.

Firefly Music Festival

More than 140 rock and pop music acts take the stage at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway for the Firefly Music Festival. The 154-acre festival grounds accommodate a variety of dining options, and an on-site brewery is available to fuel the fun. The four-day festival is held in late June.

Peach Festival

The Wyoming Peach Festival takes place every year on the first Saturday of August. The day kicks off with a parade from Fifer Middle School to West Third Street. The festival offers an array of entertainment, craft and food vendors, children’s activities, music and the peach dessert contest.
