The Chaplain Corps at Seymour Johnson offers a variety of worship opportunities. For more details about Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and other services, please contact the chapel. The chapel also provides an extensive array of religious study opportunities for all age groups, as well as weekly Children and Youth activities. Additionally, the chaplains provide counseling to Department of Defense members and their families.

The center provides a variety of education services ranging from academic advising, tuition assistance, information on the Community College of the Air Force, commissioning programs and the GI Bill. WAPS, EPME and CDC testing are also administered through the education and training office. Our on-base colleges offer associate through the graduate programs: Central Michigan University, Embry-Riddle University, Fayetteville State University, University of Mount Olive and Wayne Community College.

The Base Honor Guard represents the 4th Fighter Wing by providing ceremonial services on base, in the local community and throughout North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. The guard represents the finest traditions of the Air Force and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base — anytime, anywhere.

Activities include: military funeral honors, color details for parades, change of commands, retirements and graduation ceremonies.

This FSS Resource Flight monitors and administers the private organization program. It also reviews and handles requests for fundraisers of established private organizations and unofficial activities. Members interested in becoming a private organization at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base should contact the PO office.

North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles

The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles oversees the issuance of driver’s licenses and state identification cards, as well as vehicle registrations. You are required to obtain a North Carolina driver’s license within 60 days of becoming a North Carolina resident. Members of the armed forces stationed in North Carolina, and any dependent of the member, are considered nonresidents if they intend to return to their home state.

To apply for a driver’s license you must apply in person at one of the DMV offices and take the required tests. You must bring two documents that provide proof of your age and identity, your Social Security card, proof of residence and proof of liability. The minimum limits of liability required in North Carolina are: $30,000 for each injured person, $60,000 per accident and $25,000 for property damage.
