Welcome to Edwards Air Force Base!
Whether you are here for a short visit or being assigned for a tour of duty, we hope that your stay is enjoyable.
Edwards is where tomorrow’s Air Force is tested, and all of us who live and work here are extremely proud of this installation, its rich history and its role in the advancement of military air power and state-of-the-art of aviation in general. Thanks to our wide-open spaces, both land and sky, and our lakebed runways, Edwards is the perfect place to safely test America’s aerospace systems.
Within the pages of this guidebook, you’ll be able to learn more about our mission and the groups that make up the 412th Test Wing, which is the host wing for Edwards — the second-largest base in the U.S.
While you’re assigned here, make sure that you take the time to explore the surrounding Antelope Valley, which offers a wide range of off-base activities. Beyond the High Desert is the Santa Clarita Valley and the Los Angeles basin to the south, as well as exciting destinations toward the north.
Again, a hearty welcome and best wishes from all of us for a most enjoyable stay!
