The museum features exhibits, displays and videos depicting the history of Edwards AFB and of flight test at Edwards, including aircraft static displays, models, biographies and aviation memorabilia. The museum also has a gift shop with a large selection of aircraft desktop models, aviation T-shirts, books and collectibles.

Blackbird Airpark, an annex of the Air Force Flight Test Museum, has the world’s only display of a Lockheed SR-71A together with its predecessor, the first A-12 (Article 121), along with the once ultra-secret D-21 drone and the only remaining U-2 D model in the world. The airpark is open to the public and is free.

NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center has an educational visitor center and gift shop, for those with base access, on-site and several retired research aircraft on display including the forward-swept wing X-29, the HL-10 lifting body, two modified F-8s, the subscale Highly Maneuverable HiMAT remotely piloted aircraft, the first supersonic yaw-vectoring F-15 ACTIVE and the last SR-71 ever flown.
