The 319th Force Support Squadron welcomes you to Grand Forks Air Force Base! We are responsible for enhancing quality of life for base employees and their families by providing a wide range of mission-supporting recreational, educational, and life sustaining activities.
We pride ourselves in offering Grand Forks Airmen and their families, military retirees and, in some cases, our civilian employees, the best products, programs and customer service. From child care, to exciting activities and adventurous outdoor treks, we have something for everyone.
Our programs include dining facilities, fitness and bowling centers, library, community and outdoor recreation, youth and child development centers, lodging, mortuary affairs and honor guard programs in support of military, civilian, and retired family members. The 319th Force Support Squadron program includes exchange and commissary liaison as well.
Keep up-to-date by regularly visiting our website which we constantly update with new programs and great things to participate in. There should never be a reason to say “There is nothing to do.”
Following are highlights of the many recreation and leisure activities we offer. Operating hours are subject to change.
449 Tuskegee Airmen Blvd (Bldg. 308)
The Aquatic Center features a horseshoe-shaped indoor pool with areas designated for lap swim and recreational swimming and a spacious pool-side lounge area with comfortable seating. Located in the same building as the Fitness Center, the Aquatic Center has its own locker rooms and shower facilities. Trained lifeguards are on duty all times the pool is open.
Programs offered include swimming lessons, lifeguard training, and water aerobics. Special times are designated for open swimming, family swimming, and mommy/toddler time. For athletic training, services include Fitness, PT, and Lap swimming. Reservations can also be made for pool parties.
Days and hours of operation for each of the programs can be found on the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) website or by calling the center.
Children younger than 11 years must have an adult (18 years or older) with them at all times while in the pool area. Children 11 years and older must be able to swim 45 feet to be left alone. A swim test is required for deep end swimming for ALL YOUTH under 18. See lifeguards for test. All children 4 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or garden (18 or older) in the water at all times (within arms reach). No exceptions.
Arts & Crafts Center
543 Holzapple St (Bldg. 203)
The Arts and Crafts Center has equipment, tools, supplies, working space, and trained staff assistance to support a variety of fine arts and crafts. Services offered include a frame shop; consignment boutique; retail store; small woodworking area; classes for children and adults; and graphics shop. The Center is open throughout the year from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday. A schedule of classes is posted on the MWR website.
Auto skills Development Center
425 7th Ave (Bldg. 310)
The Auto Skills Center is a full-service auto repair center offering alignments, oil changes, tune-ups, tire rotation/repair and wrecker service. Self-service stall rentals are also available. The Auto Center has equipment, tools, supplies, working space, a sales store facility, and trained staff assistance to support the repair and maintenance of private automobiles and other vehicles. . Full service is available, by appointment, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Do-it-Yourself work stalls are available Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A coin operated car wash, located next to the Shopette, is open around the clock.
529 Holzapple St (Bldg. 202)
Featuring 24 synthetic lanes with automatic scoring, Dakota Lanes offers a locker room, full-service Pro Shop, specially lighted Galaxy Bowling and squadron bowling events. Strike Zone Snack Bar is also located at the Bowling Center. Days and hours of operation vary with the season; call for current hours or visit the MWR website for hours and special promotions, as well as current menu at the snack bar.
The 319th Force Support Squadron operates six dining facilities on base. Menus for each are publicized in the MWR website.
Airey Dining Facility is a world class food service operation with a bright, open dining room that seats up to 228 customers at a time. The dining facility is open to active duty enlisted personnel and all TDY visitors. All cash customers pay the basic food cost + a 33% surcharge.
The dining facility serves a wide variety of entrees, vegetables, and starches to include healthy heart selections, salad bar, rotating taco and potato bars, plus a delicious choice of pastries.
Fast Eddie’s Cybercafé features specialized coffee and hot chocolate, pastries, breakfasts, and sandwiches. It’s open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 747-6201.
JR Rockers is a high-energy sports cafe and bar featuring a video arcade, state-of-the-art audio equipment, high definition TV’s, NFL Sunday Ticket, and an awesome menu including salads, burgers and wings! Rockers Café serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday. It’s also open Saturday for dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rocker’s Bar is open Monday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. It is also open on Down Days and Family Days from 5 p.m. to normal closing time. Putters’ Snack Bar, located at the base golf course, is open from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Closed on weekends. Call 747-4282 for more information.
Strike Zone, located at the base bowling center, is open Tuesday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Call 747-3050 for more information.
A professionally designed 9-hole course is located next to lodging. Check out Frisbees (free) at the Fitness Center during its regular hours.

The 9-hole, par 72 golf course includes snack bar, pro-shop, driving range, putting green, chipping green, and golf simulator. Golf instruction is available along with golf cart and club rental. The pro shop provides club repair and re-gripping.
The pro-shop is open every day during the summer from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and in the winter on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, days and hours of golf course operations are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Putters’ Snack Bar is open from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It’s closed weekends and holidays.

The Grand Fork’s Tickets and Tours program is operated through the Outdoor Recreation Office. It has an assortment of theme park, zoo, and dinner theater tickets available at discounted rates. It also can help you arrange greatly discounted vacations through the Armed Forces Vacation Club, a “space available” program that offers military and other Department of Defense-affiliated personnel the opportunity to enjoy vacations at popular destinations around the world – for the incredibly low price of just $369 per week. Liberty Square is a multi-purpose facility that hosts classes and indoor sports. It is home to a skateboard park and a Roller Rink that features a Friday night open roller skating program complete with a state of the art light and sound system. Also located at Liberty Square is the “Station” Community Lounge. The facility is also available to rent for birthday parties, special events and squadron functions. 511 Holzapple St (Bldg. 201)
The base library is an extensive resource center providing access to more than 50,000 fiction, non-fiction and audio books, CD’s, videos, newspapers and magazines. Electronic resources include information on military, education, medicine, literature, art, business, sciences, careers, and a host of additional fields.
The library offers continuing education support with classroom instruction on library use for research and subject resources, one-on-one reference assistance, teen programs, evening and weekend programs, story time, summer reading programs, hardwired and WiFi Internet access, Playaways, CDs, and DVDs.
Toughbook Laptops are available for deployed and TDY checkout. Extended checkout periods are also granted for deployment and TDY use of all library materials. Deployed spouse support includes access to Instant Messaging through Air Force Portal with spouse invitation and special programs during the year.
The library is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday through Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The library is closed on federal holidays.
Operation Enduring Friendship
(Sports and Entertainment Tickets)
The Communities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks have partnered with the University of North Dakota and North Valley Arts Council to create Operation Enduring Friendship. Through OEF, military personnel and their families receive free or discounted tickets to area sporting events, theater productions and music concerts. For more information, visit the ticket outlet at the Community Center. For University of North Dakota sports tickets:
•All OEF/MAD tickets must be purchased or picked-up at an official UND Athletics Box Office.
•Must present valid Military ID to receive tickets. An adult with a Military ID card must be present to receive or purchase a ticket for a military dependent that does not have a Military ID.
•One person must present the military ID for the discount.
•ALL TICKETS ARE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY.
If designated sections are sold out of seats, the offer will no longer be available.

The Outdoor Recreation Center provides equipment rental and education programs for outdoor recreation. Rental equipment includes camping, boating, fishing, and skiing supplies as well as miscellaneous tools. A complete listing of available equipment, and costs, is available on the MWR website. Outdoor Recreation also sells North Dakota hunting and fishing licenses, and has river and hiking maps for both North Dakota and Minnesota. Depending on your interest and skill, our staff will be glad to help you plan your group’s next outdoor adventure. Other services include: United Parcel Service (UPS); trips and tours; RV storage; Family Camp; vehicle resale lot; and a horse boarding stable. Outdoor Recreation also offers skills development and instructional programs to include: hunter safety, ice fishing, and boating safety. Days and hours of operation vary with the season.

Sports & Fitness Center

The Sports, Fitness and Aquatics Center is a 118,000 square foot, state of the art facility featuring two gymnasiums, five racquetball courts, a multipurpose indoor turf area (w/indoor track), weight rooms, cardiovascular equipment room, aerobics room, spin room, indoor swimming pool and a Fun & Fit family area. Included are two men’s and two women’s locker rooms with saunas in the main locker rooms. This facility provides plenty of room for a healthy fitness and sports program. Outdoor facilities include three softball fields, a 400-meter outdoor running track, four tennis courts, running trail with 5k and 10k routes, three horse shoe pits, sand volleyball court, pavilion, picnic tables and cooking grills.
The Sports and Fitness Center staff offer numerous fitness classes every week. Since schedules may vary from month to month, interested individuals are encouraged to go to the MWR website to find out what is being offered. The staff also provides an “Equipment Familiarization Class” for new members.
Fitness center equipment can be confusing and, at times, pretty intimidating. If you are not using the equipment correctly, it can result in an injury to you or damage to the equipment. In order to get you past this obstacle the Center offers classes that will show you how to properly utilize the weight and cardiovascular equipment. Call the Fitness Center at 747-3384 to make an appointment with one of our staff members to familiarize you with the equipment.
The Sports and Fitness Center is open every day throughout the year. On Mondays through Fridays it is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. It is also open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and Down Days.
Adjacent to Prairie Rose Chapel
Sven’s Den is an Airmen Center serving as a spiritual oasis where Airmen build relationships, build community, connect with one another, connect with Chapel staff, and connect spiritually. Sven’s promotes activities to help Airmen develop healthy relationships, value service to others, and build leadership and character. To accomplish this vision Sven’s provides video gaming stations, wireless internet, big screen televisions and other amenities; plus hosts activities, gaming nights, Monday Night Football, cookouts and other events in an alcohol free, relaxed atmosphere. Sven’s Den is open daily during duty hours. It is also open for Monday Night Football during football season from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. It is also open Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Single’s Ministry; Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Youth Ministry; and additional times for group activities.
