Grand Forks AFB Education & Training Center offers degree programs from three fully accredited universities, two of which are open to the general public. Five off base schools offer numerous other educational opportunities. The Base Education Center offers classes and degrees through the Community College of the Air Force, Lake Region State College, and Park University. 

Off base schools include the University of North Dakota, Northland Community and Technical School, University of Mary, Mayville State University, and The University of Minnesota Crookston. Available programs include Vocational Certificates as well as Associates, Bachelor, and Masters Degrees. Several Ph.D. programs are also available. All schools are fully accredited and approved for financial aid. These classes are open to military and civilians on/off base. 

The Education & Training Center offers the opportunity to gain college credit by examination at no cost to the active duty and reserve personnel. Civilians and dependents are charged a fee. Through the DANTES Subject Standardization Tests (DSST) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP), students can earn from 3-12 college credits for each exam passed successfully. A test proctor service is offered to all beneficiaries.
