Fort Lee has two DSN prefixes.

  • If the commercial prefix you are calling is 734, use 687 as the DSN prefix.
  • If the commercial prefix you are calling is 765, use 539 as the DSN prefix.

Requirements to enter Fort Lee is a Military ID, Contract or DoD ID card. Visitors are required to present the following documents to enter Fort Lee:

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Valid Vehicle Registration
  • Proof of Insurance
  • In addition, all adult passengers are required to present identification.

Gate Information:

  • Lee Avenue Gate: Open 24 Hours
  • Mahone Avenue Gate: Open daily, 5:00 a.m- 9:00 p.m.
  • A Avenue Gate: Open Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Shop Road Gate: Open Monday - Friday, 5:00 a.m. -9:00 p.m.
  • Sisisky Boulevard Gate: Open daily, 5:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Commercial traffic must enter through Sisisky Boulevard Gate but can exit the installation from any gate.
  • Jackson Circle Gate: Open 24 hours to residents and authorized guest.
  • Temple Avenue Gate (Ordnance Campus): Open 24 hours to staff, residents and authorized guest.

All military personnel assigned to any organization on Fort Lee are expected to comply with Army regulations and directives concerning personal dress and appearance as outlined in Army regulations. Fort Lee is open to the general public, and residents of nearby communities are frequent visitors.

Virginia requires drivers and all front-seat passengers to wear seat belts. All children under age six must be properly secured in a child safety seat or booster seat. Violations will result in a $25 fine. All passengers age 15 and under must wear a seat belt.

The Dukes Welcome Center is adjacent to the Lee gate, just off Route 36. The staff can help visitors find a destination on post and answer general questions about installation services and events. The welcome center hours of operations are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Closed holidays).
