The Civilian Marksmanship Program range in Anniston was the site for the 2016 Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps National Air Rifle Championships. The competition consisted of more than 200 high school students on 56 teams from 73 high schools nationwide. Through various previous competitions, the participating schools earned the right to shoot at the national championship. Choccolocco Mountain Off-Road Vehicle Park
Choccolocco Mountain Off-Road Vehicle Park, in Jacksonville, welcomes any type of off road vehicle. Mountain Longleaf National Wildlife Refuge
Mountain Longleaf National Wildlife Refuge is situated within the southern Appalachian mountain range in Anniston. The refuge was established in 2003 on the former military training lands of Fort McClellan. The 9,000-acre mountain refuge contains beautiful vistas and a rugged landscape of unfragmented forests.
