The Fort Carson Main Exchange located in building 6110 Martinez Street will cash personal checks up to $300 per day and temporary checks of $100 per day. Government checks, money orders and cashier’s checks in amounts up to $500 are also cashed. The Fort Carson Main Exchange accepts Military Star, credit cards and debit cards. The office of the post newspaper, The Mountaineer, is located in room 320, building 1218. The newspaper is published weekly on Friday. The Mountaineer is delivered around post, to Fort Carson housing areas and various locations off post. Mail subscriptions are available through the publisher at 719-634-5905. Limited free classified ads are run in The Mountaineer for active-duty and retired Soldiers, Family members and civilian employees of Fort Carson selling their own personal property (no businesses).
