FAMOUS MILITARY SPOUSES WHO MADE A HUGE IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY
This Military Spouse Appreciation Day, we're acknowledging some famous military spouses, or just the ones who made a big impact on the community, as they do everything they can to support their partner in the military.
They are known for putting aside their comfort and needs just to support their loved one who is in the military service.
Some military spouses have made such an impact with all their work that their efforts go way beyond just taking care of the family. They have proven that being a military spouse is also a leader, an advocate, and a person who wants to change things for the better.
Who Are the Famous Military Spouses
There are a lot of military spouses who have become well-known, which we are not aware of, and they have held their own spot because of their own goals and careers, so they also deserve to be recognized. They have used their skills and passions to make a real difference not just in military life but also in civilian life.
- Holly Vega

She also wrote a book called American Wife, which became a New York Times bestseller. Her latest book, American Spirit, came out in 2019 and shares short stories about amazing people she's met around the country. Her and Chris’s life was also shown in the movie American Sniper, which was nominated for an Oscar.
We Also Have to Honor Them
If we were just ordinary people, we wouldn’t see what military spouses have to go through. For sure, they also have hard days, the long waits, the times they gotta hold everything together while their partner is away, and that could be tiring.
These famous military spouses also deal with a lot, and they don’t always get recognized, even though we all know that they deserve it.
This National Military Spouse Day, let’s acknowledge the ups and downs, the love, the strength, and the quiet sacrifices they make every single day, because we don’t often give that to them.
Imagine, they keep things running at home, raise kids, manage stress, and still find time to help others in the community, and that is the kind of sacrifice that has no cost, so let’s show them that we appreciate them more than words can say.
All of the military spouses stay beside their military partners even though they sometimes go through the hardest part of their lives, and with that, they also serve in a way, because they are the ones who bring comfort and support during the toughest times for their spouses.
They can indeed be treated as the backbone of the military because, through it all, they are the ones who also lift the whole military community, as they always show up and care for the people who are in the same position as they are, and they deserve to be honored for that.
This Is the Time to Recognize Them
There’s a chance every year for everyone to show appreciation and say thank you to our military spouses for all the support they give, and that is on National Military Spouse Day.
So let’s take this time to recognize them because they are the ones who keep everything at home running smoothly, making sacrifices that they don’t have to do, but they made the choice so their partner can serve without having to worry.
It’s a day that will remind us of the strength and sacrifices made by those who support our service members.
Show Them Love on National Military Spouse Day
There are a lot of ways to show military spouses that we appreciate them, and even with the smallest thing, they will surely appreciate it. You can start just by simply saying thank you and letting them know that you see everything that they do, and those don’t go unnoticed.
If you have time, you can also offer them support like watching the kids, bringing them a meal, or just checking in to see how they are doing.
Most of all, just being there and showing that you care and that they are not alone can make their day. Let’s not forget that there are a lot of military spouses who deserve to be recognized, not just the famous military spouses. So, on May 9, what is going to matter a lot to them is that we take the time to acknowledge and show them our appreciation; therefore, let’s give that to them and celebrate their lives.
