What Is Hope For The Warriors?

Founded in 1997, Hope For The Warriors provides support to combat-wounded service members, their families, and those who have lost a loved one in combat. Its focus is on service members and their families who were involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The Hope For The Warriors charity is a group that provides comprehensive support programs for the military community that are specifically focused on transitioning from the military into civilian life, peer engagement, health and wellness, and connecting military personnel with community resources. This non-profit was founded by military families at Camp Lejeune, NC, in 2006. Military families understand the effects of war unlike any other group, and these families came together to make a difference. Family values continue to be at the core of their mission, as Hope For The Warriors works with programs to help wounded troops, their family members, and families of fallen warriors.

What They Provide

The programs and services provided by Hope For The Warriors directly help military members and their families in a variety of ways. This includes the following:
  • Clinical health and wellness-focused programs provide support on the entirety of health for both the short and long-term needs of warriors and their families.
  • Transition services for any and all stages, including the battlefield to home, station to station, military to civilian life, etc.
  • Sports and recreation efforts to help reconnect troops with their hobbies or provide new opportunities to injured warriors through adaptive equipment.
The approach is holistic through and through and designed to touch on the entire spectrum of a troop’s life and well-being. Throughout the year, various events bring together the community and help make everything possible. Both the Got Heart Give Hope Gala and Hope For The Warriors Invitational golf tournament are some of the highlights you may find.
