Beale AFB Recreation Outdoor Adventure Center

Recreation at Beale is limited only by your imagination and desire. This section of the guide lists some of those activities already established. For up-to-date information on recreation activities and events, call the 9th Force Support Squadron Marketing office at 530-634-2283.

Situated in the middle of a recreational paradise, Beale’s Outdoor Adventure Center provides information, expertise and equipment for all patrons to take advantage of the diverse opportunities available. California’s Gold Country offers leisure opportunities for every individual from hiking, camping, biking or skiing in the Sierras to whitewater rafting, swimming, sailing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating on the many lakes and rivers or the Pacific Ocean. The goal of the OAC is to make your California experience a memorable one. Weekly trips offer the opportunity to participate in many of these great opportunities, all at a very reasonable rate.

The rental operation at the OAC has just about everything you could possibly need to make your recreation experience enjoyable. When visiting, you will find a huge selection of camping equipment from trailers to backpacking gear and everything in between. Whether you fish or water-ski, the OAC has the boat for you.

For chores around the house, they have equipment to make the job easier. Whether it is a rototiller or lawnmower, an aerator or a wood splitter, the rental equipment at the OAC can help. Hitting the slopes? They have downhill skis, cross-country skis, snowboards and other winter equipment available for reasonable rental rates. The OAC also houses one of the first bike repair facilities in the Air Force. Beale’s “Bike Barn” specializes in all types of repairs, maintenance and inspections, plus it offers a wide variety of specialty resale gear to outfit your bike. They can also custom order almost any bike-related gear you’d need and offer cycling clinics.

The ITT (Information, Tickets & Travel) office is also in the OAC facility and offers a variety of weekly leisure trips to popular California destinations such as San Francisco, wine country, Lake Tahoe, amusement parks and so much more. Discount tickets to California’s most popular venues, hotels, amusement parks and sporting events are available for purchase. The ITT staff is available to set up a custom trip or plan an activity of your own choosing.

The maintenance technicians can tune up and repair your privately owned equipment. Let the OAC do the necessary repairs on your lawnmower, marine engine, bicycle or snow skiing equipment, all at reasonable prices.

Stop by the OAC at 17630 Doolittle Drive or call 530-634-2054 for information on programs and services offered.
