Recreation

Hawaii is a recreational paradise. With a beautiful year-round climate, warm ocean waters, sandy beaches, mountains, forests, parks and other facilities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Outdoor recreation opportunities are available through your Marine Corps Community Services departments, including rentals for beach and sports equipment, golf, sailing, racket sports, volleyball, scuba diving and more.

Fitness Center

The General Louis H. Wilson Semper Fit Center, Building 615, offers a range of exercise equipment, including free weights, weight machines, cardiovascular equipment and a sauna. The gym is an excellent place to play basketball, volleyball and racquetball. Camp H.M. Smith also offers lap swimming in the pool, Building 125, as well as nationally accredited certified personal trainers. Call 808-477-5197 for more information.

Library

Marine Corps Base Hawaii is equipped with a full-service library, and its branch at Camp H.M. Smith is in Building 1, Room 201. The library includes a book catalog, fiction and nonfiction books, audiobooks, paperbacks, e-books and e-audiobooks, magazines and newspapers, free Wi-Fi, a microfiche collection, computers and TVs. A Special Collections section is available with a reference section, a Hawaiian section and a Marine Corps section with MCI materials and the commandant’s professional reading collection. Pools

Pools are available at both Camp H.M. Smith and Manana Housing, and aquatics classes are offered throughout the year. For more information, call 808-254-7655.

Singles Programs

Camp Smith Recreation Center: Loaded with the latest technology and recreational equipment, the Camp Smith Rec Center with its movie theater, games, free Wi-Fi and more is just the place for single and unaccompanied personnel stationed at Camp H.M. Smith. For those living in the barracks, a fully equipped kitchen is available. Call 808-477-0808 for more information.

Ticket Office

The Information, Tickets & Tours and Tradewind Travel Office provides special military rates and discounts on airline tickets, dinner cruises, luaus, sports events, theme park attractions, newly added mainland cruises and other exciting offerings. ITT services are available in Building 4, 808-477-5143.
