Dyess AFB Getting To and Around

 

Taylor County, located in west central Texas, is well connected within the state and the rest of the United States via several major highways. Major roadways include U.S. Highway 83/84 and 227, Interstate 20 and State Highway 36. The area is served by railroads of the Missouri Pacific Railroad, the Atchison, Topeka and Sante Fe, and the Burlington Northern. Bus service through Greyhound as well as public transit service is available in Abilene. Public transit service for rural Taylor County is available through CARR (City and Rural Rides).

 

For those arriving by air, Abilene Regional Airport serves Taylor County with daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is located 185 miles east of Dyess Air Force Base.
