The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) program holds installation monthly meetings at The HUB with brigade, battalion, and unit BOSS representatives. The BOSS program provides a variety of recreational programs, trips, and volunteer opportunities for single Soldiers. The BOSS office is located inside the HUB. For more information, call 524-2677.
ELKHORN CATERING & CONFERENCE CENTER
The Elkhorn Catering and Conference Center is a 24,000-square-foot facility able to provide full service catering and meeting services for events up to 350 people. The Elkhorn is used for a multitude of events: wedding receptions, changes of command, meetings and conferences, reunions, holiday parties and more. It provides a variety of complimentary amenities for meetings and conferences to include premium coffee, ice water, linens, set-up, clean up, fax and copier use, and audio-visual equipment (LCD projectors, large-screen televisions, video recorders, sound system capabilities, microphone and podium). Catered events are done with a creative touch by our award-winning team of hospitality professionals.
The Ivy Irish Pub, located in the Elkhorn, is available to be reserved for private parties, hail and farewells, promotion parties, socials, and a variety of other events. The menu for the Pub can be set according to individual guest needs.
The Elkhorn Catering and Conference Center is dedicated to exceeding guest expectations. Its dedicated personnel create buffet displays and action stations sure to amaze the host as well as the party attendees. Some of the specialty theme events used in the past included a country barbeque, Hawaiian luau, family carnival night and Santa at the Elkhorn. THE HUB: ELKHORN ANNEX, BOSS AND LEISURE TRAVEL SERVICES
Conference room can seat up to 250 individuals. Included with the reservation of the conference room are audio-visual equipment (LCD projectors, sound system capabilities, microphone, and podium). Call 576-6646 for more information.
CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN SHOOTING COMPLEX
The Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex (CMSC) is a joint project between the U.S. Army, El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the U.S. Forest Service. The 400-acre site sits on Army land near Interstate 25 just off mile marker 132. The entrance is located just outside Fort Carson’s Gate 20 security perimeter. Shooters using the range will not have to enter Fort Carson to use the range.
The Range Complex includes 120 shooting positions across seven ranges. One range is designated as a Law Enforcement Range and will be available to the public only on weekends. One range is a combination rifle and pistol range. Two ranges are designated specifically for rifles and allow for firing points between 100 and 600 yards. Two ranges are designed specifically for pistols and allow for firing points up to 50 yards. One range is designated as an instructional range.
The second phase of the project will include the construction of two skeet and trap ranges in the near term with an additional three ranges planned in the future as well as a club house. The club house will include a retail store, classrooms and offices. Completion of the project will occur during third phase with the addition of a restaurant.
