Cozied up to the South Carolina border on their eastern edges, Georgia’s Augusta-Richmond and Columbia counties easily link the Augusta metropolitan region with other parts of the states and the rest of the nation. Most people traveling in the area choose to drive, enjoying the scenic roads throughout the Middle Savannah River sub-basin.

For those flying, there are several airports within 200 or so miles with numerous air carriers. Two airports are within Georgia, and one is nearby in South Carolina.

Both counties and surrounding areas have public transportation.
