These Soldiers and National Guard Members Have Gameand They’re Going to TwitchCon 2019

Army & Air Force Exchange Service, IMCOM Send Street Fighter V’ Qualifiers to Annual Show

DALLAS Soldiers and National Guard members will put their gaming skills on center stage for the world to see at TwitchCon 2019 on Sept. 27 thanks to a partnership among the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, Army Entertainment, Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Family and MWR Program, and the Army National Guard.

“The Exchange is proud to support the Soldiers and Guard members who are headed to TwitchCon 2019 in San Diego,” said Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “Throughout the qualifying events, the Exchange has been with them every step of the way, including support of the Army Entertainment’s Twitch channel.”

The Soldiers and National Guard members won qualifying “Street Fighter V” tournaments at installations and Army National Guard armories around the world this spring and summer. The qualifiers were part of IMCOM Family and MWR’s effort to provide opportunities for Soldiers to recharge, reduce stress and promote esprit de corps.

Soldiers and Guard members will kick off TwitchCon on the main stage Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PST, with the contests broadcast on Twitch at www.twitch.tv/armyentertainment. Players and their qualifiers include:

The “Street Fighter V” tournaments and TwitchCon appearance are part of an ongoing effort of IMCOM Family and MWR to provide healthy recreational and leisure activities for Soldiers while building skills they can utilize while serving our nation. Soldiers contribute to the Army mission in a variety of career fields that draw on gaming skills, from technological support to digital security and more.

The Exchange will be at TwitchCon to celebrate with the service members as well as share its mission of serving those who serve and information about how Veterans can shop online tax-free for life.
