CHILD CARE AND YOUTH PROGRAMS

Child Development Center

The Child Development Center, in Building 1796, offers a full-day and hourly care program for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age. A developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children is planned by teachers with attention to the different needs, interests and developmental levels of each individual child. The center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is DOD certified. Fees are based on total family income. School-Age Center

The School-Age Center, in Building 1751, is accredited by the Council on Accreditation and provides care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. A full-day summer camp program operates June through August and an after-school program is available during the school year. The program is a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and also includes 4-H activities and Character Counts programming. Programming focuses on life skills, citizenship and leadership opportunities; arts, recreation and leisure; academic support, mentoring and intervention services; and sports, fitness and health. School Support Services

School Support Services provides Army school-aged youth with educational opportunities, resources and information necessary to achieve academic success. School Support Services is home to the School Liaison Office, where school liaison officers help deliver the best educational resources and information for your children. School liaison officers specialize in education transitions, and make sure incoming and exiting families have information about local schools, graduation requirements, after-school services and programs, youth sponsorship programs and home schooling.

SKIES Unlimited

SKIES Unlimited stands for “School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills” with the word “Unlimited” for the unlimited possibilities that this program provides children and youth. SKIES Unlimited offers extracurricular instructional classes for children of all ages. Sports and Fitness Program

The Sports and Fitness Program provides team sports, individual sports, and fitness and health programs for youth. Coaches are trained and certified by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. Tutoring

Study Strong provides 24/7 online tutoring for Army-affiliated students. After registering online, students are connected to a tutor in an online classroom. Online classrooms use controlled chat and an interactive white board. Students can send computer files, such as essays, to the tutor for review and assistance. Educational support is available for kindergarten through 12th grade and college prep. Preparations for career transitions, writing resumes and studying for exams are available for adults.

Tutors are certified teachers, college professors, professional tutors or graduate school students from across the country who have been hired by Tutor.com, the provider of the Live Homework Help program. Tutors with expertise in math (including algebra, geometry and calculus), science (including earth science, biology, chemistry and physics), social studies and English composition are available. Youth Center

The Youth Center, in Building 1751, offers comprehensive, supervised programming for eligible youth in grades 6-12. Through formal partnership agreements with nationally recognized youth-serving organizations, such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 4-H and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, youth have access to programs, standard curricula, special events, camps, scholarships and more. The center’s programming focuses on life skills, citizenship and leadership opportunities; arts, recreation and leisure; academic support, mentoring and intervention services; and sports, fitness and health.
