An A-10 Thunderbolt with the 104th Fighter Squadron of the Maryland Air National Guard at Baltimore practiced landing approaches Sept. 10, 2019, at Young Air Assault Strip on South Post at Fort McCoy, Wis.

The A-10 training was another unique type of training that has taken place at the airstrip in 2019.

Wisconsin Guard members assisted with the training.

Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.

The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
