Photo Essay: Building renovation of old Community Activity Center carries on through winter

Story by Scott Sturkol on 02/07/2019

Contractors with Platt Construction of Tomah, Wis., are shown working on the former Community Activity Center, building 2000, on Jan. 23 as part of a $5.1 million renovation of the building.

Construction completion is planned for fall 2019 and construction will continue through winter.

Once complete, the building will support the Army Reserve Mobilization Force Generation mission at the installation.

The continuing renovation is coordinated by personnel with the Directorate of Public Works at Fort McCoy.

Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin. The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
