Religious Programs

The entire Post Unit Ministry Team extends to you a personal invitation to worship with us and participate in our many religious ministries and programs. We are dedicated to ensuring the free exercise of religion for Soldiers, family members, retirees and DOD civilians. We seek to accomplish this mission by providing opportunities for worship, religious education, pastoral counseling ministry, family life ministry, and a multitude of workshops and seminars.

Religious programs include Installation Religious Education, to include Sunday School and Bible studies for children and youth, Protestant Women of the Chapel and Catholic Religious Education. Programs also include Family Life Ministries, which offers counseling sessions for marriage and family matters, as well as programs for couples, parents, children and the entire family.

Each Unit Ministry Team consists of a chaplain and a chaplain assistant who can provide pastoral counseling and support for baptisms, retreats, hospital visitations, memorial ceremonies, awareness training, and pre- and post-marriage counseling.

Religious services are held in two chapels at Fort Stewart and one chapel at Hunter Army Air Field. Chapels at Fort Stewart include: Main Post Chapel, Building 500, 10 Cavalry Way; Marne Chapel, Building 610, Gulick/Sixth Street; Heritage Chapel; and the Hospital Chapel, first floor, 1G12. The Hunter AAF Chapel, Building 145, is located at 368 Haley Ave.
