Child development center (CDC)

The practices of Hurlburts Field Child Development program are based on current knowledge of child development and early childhood education. We are responsible for supporting the whole child. We facilitate children’s learning in all areas of development since all aspects are inter-related and equally important. Our program embraces that children learn through active, hands-on involvement with their environment, peers, and caring adults. We respect each child’s unique interests, experiences, abilities, and needs. This allows us to be responsive to and appropriately focused on each child’s unique learning style and needs. Likewise, our program respects and supports ideals, cultures, and values of families in their task of nurturing children. We advocate for children, families, and the early childhood professionals within our program.

Hurlburt recently opened two new CDC’s in Dec 2011/Aug 2012 offering an additional 278 care spaces decreasing the wait list for parents needing child care.
