Family Child Care (FCC) providers offer loving, nurturing and professional care in a home setting for children 4 weeks through 12 years of age. Providers offer part-time care, full-time care, before- and after-school care, and extended hours. The program also offers an opportunity for spouses to contribute to the family income while caring for their own children.
FCC providers provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities. Providers receive the same training and support as the child development centers and School-Age Program employees. FCC providers are well trained, they and their family members undergo a thorough background check and their homes must meet specific requirements related to health, fire prevention, safety and child development programming. Providers must pass a home inspection by FCC; Child, Youth and School Services; and installation representatives. Each provider and their home are certified by the installation.
