San Antonio Education and Academics Libraries

 

Public libraries in San Antonio and South Texas offer learning, recreation, distance education, internet connections and other resources for users, all for free. In addition, school libraries that support the curriculum and have internet access and additional resources are in most public and private schools, and academic and special libraries are found in colleges and universities. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission, at www.tsl.texas.gov, supports libraries in the state with resources, interlibrary loan and other assistance such as Little Free Libraries.

The Val Verde County Library in Del Rio gets heavy use with 119,691 visits every year. A dozen public computers with internet access are available, as are four student resource computers, two bilingual children’s computers, a fax machine, two copiers, a public courtesy phone, more than 69,000 materials in print, 2,540 audio books, 1,252 videos, and 176 newspaper and magazine subscriptions.
