Little Rock AFB 2019 Museums

Learn about Arkansas’ history and cultural contributions by visiting the many local museums.

Arkansas Arts Center

Located in historic MacArthur Park, the Arkansas Arts Center serves more than 300,000 visitors each year. The museum’s collection features drawings, paintings, photographs and contemporary crafts. Admission is free, with the exception of special ticketed exhibitions. The museum also features a children’s theater, the only professional company in Arkansas that produces children’s literary works for the stage; a school, which offers classes for every age and skill level; and a number of programs and art lectures.

Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum

120 Riverfront Park Drive

North Little Rock, AR 72114 501-371-8320 

The Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum is centered on the submarine USS Razorback (SS-394), which served in World War II, the Vietnam War and the Cold War. The museum also has a research library, theater and several outdoor exhibits. Hours vary by season; check the museum’s website for more information.

Jacksonville Museum of Military History

The museum explores significant war and homefront activities dating from the Civil War through the Iraq War, highlighting the rich military history of the surrounding area. Exhibits also include current and ongoing military engagements. In addition to permanent and special exhibits, there is a museum store as well as a media presentation room and research library.

Lonoke County Museum

215 E. Front St.

The Lonoke County Museum aims to preserve the heritage of Lonoke County by educating the public and maintaining a display of artifacts including a diorama of the Battle of the Brownsville Civil War encounter.

Museum of Discovery

500 President Clinton Ave., Suite 150

The Museum of Discovery specializes in interactive, engaging science learning through hands-on exhibits and programs. Exhibitions include Discovery Hall, Earth Journeys and the Tinkering Studio, where visitors can explore building techniques while working in a collaborative environment that encourages creativity.

William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum

1200 President Clinton Ave.

Little Rock, AR 72201 501-374-4242 

Located within the Clinton Presidential Center and Park, the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum features exhibits, special events and educational programs. The museum’s collection includes more than 100,000 items, rotated into display due to space limitations. Explore replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room, along with exhibits of documents, photographs and works of art.
