MacDill AFB Community
MacDill AFB is also home to the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) and the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The presence of these two unified commands creates a unique multi-service community at MacDill, with all branches of service represented. So although MacDill is an Air Force Base, it is also home to many soldiers, sailors and Marines.
The Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) also calls MacDill AFB home. JCSE provides contingency and crisis communications to support the unified commands, DoD and non-DoD agencies. JCSE is routinely deployed throughout the world in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is also a mission partner of MacDill AFB. NOAA is a federal agency focused on the condition of the oceans and the atmosphere. They track severe weather and help plot the course that storms might take.
