Hawaii is a recreational paradise. With a beautiful year-round climate, warm ocean waters, sandy beaches, mountains, forests, parks and other facilities, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Outdoor recreation opportunities are available through your Marine Corps Community Services departments, including rentals for beach and sports equipment, golf, sailing, racket sports, volleyball, scuba diving and much more.

Beach Cottages

Enjoy the serenity and beauty of Kaneohe Bay and the Pacific Ocean from a beach cottage. All units have a full kitchen, two bedrooms, a living room, cable TV, a lanai and a barbecue grill. Kaneohe Bay Beach Cottages are the perfect getaway for the whole family and out-of-town guests. For reservations, call 808-254-2806.

Beach Picnics and Camping

Marine Corps Base Hawaii offers some of the most scenic beaches on the island for picnic and camping sites. Pyramid Rock, Hale Koa and Fort Hase beaches are available by reservations for picnics and parties from dawn to dusk. Hale Koa Beach may also be reserved for overnight camping. K-Bay Lanes provides a healthy environment for the whole family. The bowling center houses a snack bar, video game room and vending machines. This smoke-free facility has 24 lanes with automatic pinsetters and scorers. K-Bay Lanes offers leagues for adults and a Saturday-morning league for children. For those pint-sized bowlers, there are special “bumper” bowling lanes to guarantee a fun bowling experience, as well as bowling birthday parties. Call 808-254-7693 for more information.

Fitness Centers

Semper Fit Center, Kaneohe Bay, is committed to promoting wellness and fitness for the entire Marine Corps family. The Semper Fit Center, in Building 3037, is a full-service fitness center providing the latest in weight machines, free weights, steppers, treadmills, Nordic Tracks and rowers. The facility also houses a basketball court, racquetball courts, a volleyball court and a state-of-the-art aerobic studio. Locker rooms and saunas are available free. Satellite Fitness Centers: One satellite fitness center is in Building 1033, and another is at the flight line mini gym at Building 301. Free weights and weight machines are available for use at these locations.


Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course 808-254-1745

The Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, ranked the third-best military golf course in the world, is an 18-hole championship golf course with separate driving range, chipping green and putting green. Experience this golfer’s paradise where the Ko’olau Mountains frame the front nine and the Pacific coastline spans the back nine. The Klipper Golf Center features additional services including golf lessons, a junior golf program, a well-stocked pro shop, rental equipment and a sports grill offering a range of refreshments.


Marine Corps Base Hawaii is equipped with a full-service library at Kaneohe Bay. The library includes fiction and nonfiction books, DVDs, video games, e-readers and digital tablets. The library also includes computers and internet access, Wi-Fi service and online databases that include downloadable e-books, test prep assistance and language-learning courses. The library offers separate sections for young adults, children, reference, Hawaii-based materials and a Marine Corps section with the commandant’s professional reading collection. The Marina: The marina, on scenic Kaneohe Bay, offers activities for water sports enthusiasts. Enjoy a day of sailing and sightseeing in one of the sailboats, powerboats or pontoon boats. Boats are available for rent, including sailboats, water ski boats, fishing boats and kayaks. Classes on boating and sailing are available year-round for every skill level. For boat owners, the marina pier has a boat storage area, and two boat-launch ramps are provided for easy access. For more information, call 808-254-7666.

Movie Theater

Enjoy the latest Hollywood blockbusters at K-Bay Theater. It offers movies the whole family will enjoy. Popcorn, snacks and beverages are available at the snack bar. Call the movie hotline at 808-254-7642.

Outdoor Recreation

The Outdoor Recreation & Equipment Center is designed for campers, beachgoers and outdoor enthusiasts. It features water activity, recreation equipment and party rentals at low daily rates. The center is at the Base Marina. Call 808-254-7666 for more information.

Pools and Beaches

MCB Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay boasts two pools. Water classes are offered throughout the year. For ocean swimming, snorkeling, surfing and body boarding, head to one of four beautiful beaches: Hale Koa, Fort Hase, North Beach and Pyramid Rock. For more information, call 808-254-7655.

Singles Programs

Single Marine & Sailor Program is a quality-of-life program aimed at providing resources and recreational activities specifically designed for single and unaccompanied Marines and sailors stationed at MCB Hawaii. The Kahuna’s Recreation Center (808-254-7660) houses a lounge area with an 80-inch, surround-sound TV, computers, video games, stereo system, snack machines and a reading area. Evening and weekend activities include off-base excursions to local attractions and special events, as well as MCCS activities on base. Call 808-254-7593 for more information.


Hawaii Loa Skate Park: Located adjacent to the tennis courts at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii Loa Skate Park is the ideal location for beginner to intermediate skateboard and roller-skating enthusiasts. Skaters are asked to wear the proper safety equipment to fully enjoy this park. Call 808-254-7595 for more information.


K-Bay Tennis Club offers adult and junior programs, private and semi-private lessons, parent-child classes and a Tennis Shop in Building 1255. Call 808-258-8081.


The Information, Tickets & Tours Office provides special military rates and discounts on airline tickets, dinner cruises, luaus, sports events, theme park attractions, newly added mainland cruises and other exciting offerings. Tiki Island

A tropical-themed fun park, Tiki Island offers miniature golf, bumper boats, a batting cage, a snack bar and arrangements for special events and birthday parties. Inquire for pricing at 808-254-1601.

Miniature Golf: Tiki Island has two tropical-themed miniature golf courses set in a lush oasis: the Koa (fearless) Course and the Noa (freedom) Course. Check in at the activities desk for clubs, balls and scorecards. Children under age 6 must be accompanied by an adult (16 and older).

Batting Cage: All patrons may use the new automatic pitching machine for free. Bring a bat or borrow a bat and helmet at the front desk. Hardball only.

Bumper Boats: Want to go on a bumpy ride? Electrical-powered bumper boats with squirt guns will add a splash to your day. Children 43 inches or under must be accompanied by a driver 16 years or older. Check in at the activities desk for use of the Tiki Island bumper boats.

Snack Bar: Tiki Island offers an assortment of cold beverages, coffee, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, popcorn and other munchies for your enjoyment.
