How to borrow
The loan closet provides free temporary use of household items for those who are moving to or from McConnell. Most items can be checked out for up to 30 days.
The borrower is responsible for inspecting all items prior to acceptance to ensure they are clean and in good working order. Do not accept items that are not in good condition. We suggest washing dishes, utensils and other cookware before use with detergent and hot water (if washing by hand), or an automatic dishwasher.
Pack-N-Plays, portacribs, car seats and highchairs should be wiped with a diluted bleach solution before use. The borrower is responsible for replacement or repair/replacement charges on any damaged or lost items. Loaned items must not be further lent or transferred to another individual. Loading and unloading the items are the responsibility of the borrower.
Hold Harmless Agreement
The availability and loan of an item does not constitute Air Force endorsement of the product or its manufacturer. The signing of this form denotes acceptance of full liability and responsibility for the use of loaned items, and for the safety of any person who uses the items. Instructions, if provided, must be read and followed.
The signee agrees to hold harmless and defend the Government of the United States and all its agents, acting officially or otherwise, from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, debts, and attorney’s fees arising from, claimed on account of, or in any manner predicated on the loss or damage to the property of and injuries to or death of any persons whatsoever, which may occur from the use of these items.
Loan items must be returned on or before the date specified, or an extension must be requested. Some loan items are in high demand and an extension of the loan period may not be possible. To request an extension, contact family services at 316-759-3740. Hours of Operation are 10:00 am – 2:00 pm daily. Closed Holidays. Your unit commander, first sergeant or equivalent will be contacted if borrowed items are not returned in a timely manner.
Items must be returned clean and in usable condition, ready for reissue. Any item that is dirty or soiled cannot be returned until it is clean. Refusal to clean an item could/will result in replacement charges.
