Phoebe Putney Health System
The Phoebe Putney Health System, a civilian health care system in Albany, Georgia, is a network of hospitals, family medicine clinics, rehabilitation facilities, auxiliary services and medical education training facilities.
Founded in 1911, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is the health system’s flagship and one of Georgia’s largest comprehensive regional medical centers. It is licensed for 691 beds.

HealthGrades, the nation’s leading provider of independent hospital ratings, has named PPMH a recipient of the HealthGrades Vascular Surgery Excellence Award for four years in a row (2010-2013) and ranked PPMH No. 1 in Georgia, and in the top 5 percent in the nation, for vascular surgery.
The Phoebe Cancer Center, accredited by the Commission on Cancer, is one of the busiest and most advanced in the Southeast and offers a large array of programs for prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancers of all kinds. The Carlton Breast Health Center is designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
Phoebe Digestive Health Center, at 2740 Ray Knight Way, is an 85,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility that houses both the Phoebe Gastroenterology Associates and the Phoebe Endoscopy Center. The $35 million complex is considered one of the best in the country.
Phoebe is one of six designated prenatal centers in Georgia and is the region’s only provider of neonatal care.
Phoebe is the only hospital in South Georgia that has robotic surgery with the addition of a da Vinci Surgical System that has application in three specialties — urology, gynecology and general surgery.

In addition to PPMH, Phoebe Putney Health System includes Phoebe Worth Medical Center, a critical access hospital in Sylvester, Georgia, and Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. Phoebe also manages Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center, a critical access hospital in Cuthbert, Georgia.
