Family deployment support
The Moody Airman and Family Readiness Center provides a comprehensive package of support programs & services for military members and their families before, during and after deployments.Our number one goal is to ensure all families of deployed members are taken care of during any deployment.
Annual Readiness Training
This educational briefing focuses on all three aspects of deployment: before, during and after. Military members are required to attend this training annually. Family members are also highly encouraged to attend. Call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at 229-257-3333for more information.
Pre-Deployment Training is offered every Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Deployment Control Center or upon unit request. Walk-in service is available for short-notice deployments and TDYs.
Car Care Because We Care Program
The focus of the Car Care Because We Care program is to keep the primary family vehicle of active duty Air Force members in good running condition. This 18 point inspection check and oil/filter change helps avoid more serious or costly repairs.This service is paid for by the Air Force Aide Society.
Certificates for Car Care Because We Care are available at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.
Give Parents A Break
Five hours of child care one Saturday a month at the CDC and Youth Center, paid for by the Air Force Aid Society.
Operation R.E.A.D (Reading Enjoyed Although Deployed)
Allows member to be video taped reading books to their children prior to deployment.
Hearts Apart/Morale Calls
Families utilize DSN to call deployed member once a week for 15 minutes during designated hours (6:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. weekdays and anytime on weekends and holidays) (member signs family up prior to departure).
A program designed to introduce new spouses to the military lifestyle.
Val Tech Agreement
Technical assistance is available through the Valdosta Technical College for simple automobile repairs, heating and air conditioning problems, and home electrical problems. Students will make the repairs under the supervision of the instructors and all you have to cover is the cost of the parts.For home repairs, the home must be owned by the individual.
Obtain information and guidance on just about any financial issue;budgeting, reading a Leave and Earning Statement, balancing a checkbook, consumer issues such as car buying and much, much more.
These briefings are held once the member returns from their deployment.
