Transition assistance

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) at Moody Air Force Base is a very dynamic program providing transitioning personnel with information and assistance necessary to make educated decisions about their life after military service. Last year, over 40 transition-related workshops boasting an attendance of over 700 active duty, family members and retirees were provided to personnel. Services provided include:

  • Pre-Separation Counseling
  • TAP Workshop (Facilitated by the Georgia Dept. of Labor)
  • Federal Resume Writing Workshops
  • Private Sector Resume Writing Workshops
  • Preparing for Interviews
  • Networking
  • How to Start Your Own Business (Valdosta State University)
  • Marketing Yourself for a Second Career
  • One-on-one Employment Counseling
  • Georgia Dept. of Labor Representative On-Site
  • Discovery Resource Center
  • Individual computer stations
  • Career Assessment Testing
  • Books/Videos available for checkout

In order to ensure a successful transition, remember to schedule your pre-separation counseling session with the Airman and Family Readiness Center as soon as possible; 24 months prior to your projected retirement date or 12 months before you ETS. Take advantage of services/resources available to you through your Airman and Family Readiness Center (AFRC). Have you ever considered working for nonpayment? This can be rewarding in many ways.
