Patrician Management is a locally owned and operated property management company that has been in business in Louisiana since 1936. Patrician partnered with the Navy in 2001 to provide a higher quality of housing and services to military members and their families. This Public Private Venture (PPV) partnered and formed New Orleans Navy Housing, LLC (NONH). All branches of the military are welcomed to on-base housing.

There are 735 homes on board NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse and 200 homes at The Village at Federal City (VFC), on the Westbank of New Orleans. With more than 900 townhomes and flats, NONH boasts two-, three- and four-bedroom homes to fit every family size. Active-duty, singles, retirees, Reservists and DOD employees are all welcome.

All homes include a fully equipped kitchen. Aviation Oaks neighborhood aboard NAS JRB is all electric with fully furnished kitchens to include refrigerator with icemaker, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave and garbage disposal. The units include garages and some with balconies.

The homes at Chasse Village Neighborhood aboard NAS JRB are electric and gas, have fully-furnished kitchens excluding microwaves and icemakers. These homes have carports and ample storage. All homes are cable-ready, have bedroom ceiling fans, walk-in closets, washer/dryer connections, patios and fenced backyards. The homes were designed with families in mind and include carpeting in all bedrooms and on the stairs, vinyl and/or ceramic in all other areas.

The VFC is on the west bank of the Mississippi River and just minutes from the Algiers/Canal Street Ferry and downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter.

Patrician Management is proud to serve the U.S. Armed Forces. For more information on floor plans, pets, policies and moving, visit its website at or call 866-677-0531. Patrician Management also maintains a Facebook page at

The New Orleans Navy Family Housing Welcome Center is in Patrician Management’s Community Center on board NAS JRB New Orleans, in Belle Chasse, and assists active-duty military members applying for housing on board the base. All active-duty military personnel requesting housing are required to submit a completed Housing Application Form, DD-1746, with a copy of their orders and dependency status. The housing application can be obtained at the welcome center. The housing staff qualifies all personnel for referral/assignment to housing based on family composition. Once this information is received, the housing staff will process their application and forward their referral to Patrician Management for assignment to housing.

All service members with orders to the area should check in with the Navy Housing office to see what the local housing market has to offer, check on special housing programs or apply for Public Private Venture (PPV) housing managed by Patrician Military Housing (on base) or apply for unaccompanied housing (UH/barracks).

The PPV housing has two sites to choose from: one at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse and one in the Algiers area (New Orleans west bank) near the Marine Corps Support Facility. Incoming residents should email to receive an electronic copy of the Housing Orientation or to ask questions. Navy Housing is the official point-of-contact for all housing services and will ensure members are given all options before arrival.

Members need to complete a DD Form 1746 to convey housing interests and needs. This is critical when tailoring a specific search and expediting a door-to-door move. Service members (single/married) should contact Navy Housing Service Center before signing a lease with any landlord. Members should read PCS orders in their entirety. Incoming military members may also request information by using the Housing Early Application Tool (HEAT). This tool allows the housing department to gather information that caters to an individual family’s desires and needs, but it does not put anyone on a priority waitlist of any type. Call Navy Housing Service Center at 504-678-3280 for more information.

Single Service Members

Single service members who are on permanent change of station (PCS) orders will reside in UH/barracks. Navy E-1/E-4 and Marine E-1/E-5 personnel are housed and are provided the following:

  • A furnished bedroom with some units sharing common areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Telephone, cable television and high-speed Internet services available for purchase.
  • Mailboxes and laundry facilities.

Single BAH is not authorized (depending on years in service) unless approved by the installation commanding officer. Members who wish to reside on the economy should submit a special request chit to housing, via their command, for approval. Unaccompanied housing does not house married/voluntary geo-bachelors. Those members will be provided other options upon initial check-in with the Navy Housing Service Center office. UH does however have a robust resident advisor program that allows volunteer senior enlisted married or single (E7-E9) to reside in UH while serving as mentors to assigned junior enlisted and working as an after-hours staff member of UH. If interested, call 504-678-7054.
